Who the F*** put number2 in charge ?

Recommended Posts

Whenever you issue a move there command to any of your squad mates (doesnt matter if its one or all of them), they start to move there in their own new formation independent of your position and the highest ranked in that new formation takes over to decide when to open fire. I use this only when i want hem to move another place im moving, if i want hem to be just behind me i ake them return to formation and set the formation to something that suits me. Doing his i have never had the problem of number 2 opening crazy fire. If you know this its actually quite understandable that even if you issue a move order to them to stay around 30 meters behind you they just ignore the fact that you are around and try to decide themselves

If I'm commanding the squad, then I'm in command. If I tell the squad and they are all right near me in formation, they should obey the command. Of course unless they are in imminent attack. But when you're all stealthed up and crawling why would #2 just go bonkers? I've been playing arma1 all afternoon since I'm broken, and I tried the same thing, and never did he jump up and start firing. Squad obeyed my commands and everybody got along nicely.

Big Dawg and PJ are right, it's a pseudo leader issue.

If you order 2,3,4 to move (all selected at the same time) they will form a "pseudo group" with #2 as the pseudogroup leader. #2 will complain if #3 and #4 are out of formation with respect to him. You can avoid this by either taking care when using pseudogroups or simply give move orders individually.

i might buy that, in that scenario,

but when it was 5,6,7 who were ordered to move elsewhere and 2,3,4 are following me still? number2 doesnt have any business recalling 5,6,7...

I'm not saying it's normal behavior, probably a bug of some sort, but I was just trying to illuminate the avenue down which the misbehavior was sent.

It's something that happened in A1 as well. TonyRanger could explain it. It was some sort of bug/flaw. Even his Mod couldn't avoid it happening. He tried but couldn't avoid it with FFN. [=DD=] Luhgnut if you've never seen it in A1 then you are lucky. It doesn't happen very often but it will pop up.
