As far as i know it's impossible to add pistols to OFP (for now).

Why should they texture a new civilian outfit with something looking like a holster if they will not include pistols??

I think it´s worth the effort to integrate all the movements neccecary for pistols!

Perhaps you will start the new campaign as a police officer?

Imagine sneeking up to an unaware enemy soldier to conqer your first AK74 for the new dynamic campaign....

If BIS adds pistols into OFP I will be very disappointed to them.

As they claim that OFP is realistic war simulation they should first add many pieces of infantry equipment which definetly are much more used than pistols.

People! Pistols *are not* useless in war. Officers have them. They are quite useful for executing deserters!

Pistols yes!......

Along with MLRS, Artillery, Combat Engineer Vehicles, Patriot Missiles, SAM Sites, Sappers, Fox NBC vehicles, Cupolas on vehicles such as 5 ton trucks and perfectley square camo netting so I can cover more units in the mission editor.

Since OFP: Resistance is about a desperately outgunned resistance movement, I see no reason why some resistance fighters couldn't use pistols. Not that it's particulary useful

combat weapon but it's certainly better than nothing!

Regular armed forces don't use pistols on the field since they lack range.

it might be fun as resistance to start out a few missions with pistol only and use stealth to kill a russian with it and grab his AK-74

We did (IRL) have pistols in army. I was a bmp-2 gunner, and I had a pistol. In T-72 only commander (in finish tanks) has an AK, but every one else has a pistol.

For it usefulnes...

In urban, and in forrests, it could be useful, not in open terrain...
