How do I end Village Sweep?

Hi All,

In the single player scenario folder, there is one mission named Village Sweep that has you leading a company of marines into a village against insurgent forces. The objective is to drive the enemy out and keep your guys alive.

Somehow this mission does not end after all reds are dead :confused: Am i doing something wrong? I once even waited until the time named in the briefing as the ending time (0830).

Same problem here... played it many times in different ways... no ending.

i love this mission and haven't finished it yet, kept getting shot. I called an air strike on the machine gunner nest and blew them all away but air strike failed to respond to my subsequent calls later on, finally was about to finish the mission and was the last man alive and go shot by enemy officer.

There are two tasks to this mission; clean the village and something else! have you checked to make sure you killed everybody there!

Yep, even swept all the buildings, destroyed the AA in the town centre and the AI coming out of the AA.

Did a sweep in a +/- 1500 meter radius around the village. (all before 08:30)

Nothing seem to work.

Now in this mission my air strike is +/- 100 meter off to the right... very strange before today it was perfect on target.

Don't matter if I point the target with the laser or directly on the map.

I was aiming @ the AA in the town centre.

Going to play some user/editor missions for a while cause they are mostly more fun to play anyway.

I ended it by doing the mission and then calling in sec opps and going to the RV point it then completed hope this helps

after the airstrike, my comms menu stayed empty. I ordered all blue troops to the town (ctrl-space) but that did nothing either.

what's so frustrating about all this isn't the bugs, nor the lack of mission direction, but the combination of both! You don't know whether or not something is wrong with the mission or you just aren't following orders. That's the flaw. In other games it is easier to tell when there's a bug or a glitch.

So you thought you wiped everybody out, right and that you got to the v-mark objective that says seize and hold, well, further into the road is where the last enemy is but he's not marked on the map yet, it's only when you get close enough or your buddies when he fires and gets marked on the map. Dont stop at the marker go beyond it.

To me this has been the easiest scenario to complete.

You dont even have to move from your starting position.

Just send in the chopper, flank with armour (watch the minefield) and drop the bombs in the town with the planes (check the map where's lots of enemies) and watch the fireworks. After that send in the infantry squads if theres any enemy left hiding.

Sometimes just sending the helicopter and armour gets the job done.

Nice mission btw unlike the last single player scenario (where you play as napa), wich i havent been able to finish yet.

heh i finally got it to end, and earned my green pip, hooray! i drove out in the hummvee towards the red opfor arrow a fair bit. suddenly end mission screen popped up.

Doh! I nearly did that but I turned around at the petrol station, if I had of kept going I would have finished it.
