modsiw 10 Posted July 19, 2009 I installed Arma 2 with my 3870 but the performance was not that good. So I bought a 4890, runs all my games flawlessly but when I installed Arma 2 it shat a brick. I have the latest 9.6 ati drivers. I cleared all the old drivers off my computer, and since all my other games don't have any problems, I know it's a problem with Arma. My sys specs: Core i7 920 2.6GHz / Asus P6T Deluxe V2 / 12GB DDR3 OCZ Platinum / ATI Radeon HD 4890 1GB (XFX) / Corsair TX850W / Vista Home Premium 64bit Any idea what's going on? wooly-back-jack 10 Posted July 19, 2009 (edited) it was tongue in cheek but yes i find it strange that people are going out buying top-end cards because ArmaII isn't running well. nothing wrong with a 3870, I'm sure after a patch or 2 the game would have performance increases for (now) mid-range cards actually on another note to the OP why dont you go to the microsoft site and DL Windows 7 64bit, I'm hearing nothing but good things about it. it's free to try and will last until at least march next year Edited July 19, 2009 by wooly-back-jack
