ginger mcale 11 Posted July 19, 2009 Hi, iam in the Soldier mission in the campaign. The USMC forces are now back on the island again. They are under my command (STRG + Spacebar). I want to get squad 4 into the Blackhawk to transport the squad. But when i select squad 4 and move the mouse over the blackhawk the interact menu point is not available. I can only select then the other squad (the blackhawk). I have looked through all menus (1-0) and there is no option available for something like that. I tried it at the map and at the 3D view. Screenshot (click for higher resolution): Help please.
Alex72 1 Posted July 19, 2009 Do it in 1st person view? Should come up a "enter vehicle" when pointing at it. Agree it should be visible in MAP view as well. Dont know why it isnt.

ginger mcale 11 Posted July 19, 2009 How did you guys ... (question in spoiler tags because of campagin spoilers) How did you guys end this Soldier mission? Almost all towns are under control, CDF and NAPA are allied and USMC are back in Cherno city. Via radio i got the order from Cpt. Shaftoe to came to Cherno city and take command of squads. But when i arrive there nothing happens, when i press STRG + SPACE i see all the blue squads/units under my command but no orders or hints. The mission seems to check out the small island at south east of the map. How did you guys do it?
Vanten 10 Posted July 20, 2009 (edited) Create one waypoint for the squad and one for the heli. Right click on the waypoint for the squad and change type to "get in". Right click on the heli-waypoint and change type to load. Haven't tried myself, but seems reasonable :) Edited July 20, 2009 by Vanten
ginger mcale 11 Posted July 20, 2009 Thanks for the hint. Interesting possibility but does not work :o
Ir0n_Duk3 10 Posted July 21, 2009 I'm having this problem too. The choppers are always in the air and I cant tell them to land - and I'm having fun trying to avoid both choppers crashing into each other!
Jimmah 10 Posted July 21, 2009 If you get sick of your choppers crashing into each other just tell one of 'em to go elsewhere. You can bet your ass he'll oblige and crash into a tree instead.
mikeap 0 Posted November 18, 2010 (edited) Has anyone gotten this to work? It would really help High command maps alot! If not, I would hope that BI would incorporate it into their next patch. Commanders should be able to load and unload infantry into choppers and vehicles. Edited November 18, 2010 by MikeAP
nyles 11 Posted November 20, 2010 Unfortunately, High Command is one of those half-finished features. It has potential for being totally awesome, but fails in practice, because of missing functionality and polish. There is a suggestion thread somewhere, where a lot of people proposed some really great additions to make it worthwhile.
mikeap 0 Posted November 20, 2010 Absolutely. High Command, for me, makes the game much more enjoyable. I'm not a micromanager, and I enjoy have an array of forces to work with. BI should take a look at a game called Steel Beasts, an armor sim that certainly has the high command aspect nailed down.
