description.ext simplified - getting players to respawn

it would be really awesome if somebody could help me..i wanted to put the revive into my mission..some things work, but its not 100% , i just start out with that..if you could come on our teamspeak for a sec..just pm me, i give you ip 'n stuff...THXXX a lot

...as far as I know you should not be using the first aid module, only simulation and battlefield clearance, as simulation already creates the first aid module.

Hello galzohar. Where did you get this information? The only reason I'm asking is; I'm curious as to why BIS did not update their site here in the setup section if what you say is correct? Can anyone please confirm this information?

For first you can just try it yourself and see that you have the action. Secondly, I've seen it in past discussions with an old issue that could be caused if you used both, with the explanation saying that the simulation already creates the action module. Don't ask me to find the thread, though...

I see what you mean.

I was fortunate to find your post galzohar. That link I posted needs to be updated I guess. This is exactly why newbies are running in circles in the community. half the modules aren't even listed on that page. Thanks again galzohar!

Can someone post a MP respawn script. My son and I are making MP battles. Where he defends from one side. I attack from the other. He designs his side defense. And I design how I am gonna come at him. We merge our maps together and move over w/e script files we needed. (ie: Parachuting in.) Save and export to MP. We select 1 of the 10 playable soldiers from each side, in the MP screen. But when one of us dies. We come back as a bird. We don't know scripting. We copy and paste from others online. But the MP respawn of the playable units. We just aren't understanding at all. So any help would be awesome.

Create a description.ext file in the mission folder. In it type respawn=base; and in the mission.sqm place markers named "respawn_west", "respawn_east" (or whatever side you might need). Check the description.ext page for more info/options. Keep in mind that any playable unit will respawn in this manner, so if you want only the player to respawn you will have to make sure there is only 1 playable unit or that you disable the AI (either in the lobby or by adding disabledAI=1; to the description.ext file).

Thanks Galzohar and Gunter. Now my son and I can build our armies the way we want. Within reason. (LOL..!) We have a budget of points. ie: 20 troops. 3 planes = 3 tanks. Or 2 tanks and 1 plane. Stuff like that. Now I gotta learn a bombing scripts. LOL..!

try this one, I use it all the time:

Air Support http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=8337

This will allow you to call for support, you can do the following with it:

-call for a plane to drop a jdam on a marked target

-call for a plane to drop gbu on a lased target

-call for a plane to drop cbu anti personal clusterbomb on a target

-call for a plane to drop cbu antitank clutserbomb on a target

-call for pickup and transport, can be used for extraction, and insertion

-call for chopper support (2 apache choppers will come guns a blazing)

-call for CAS (an A-10 will strafe the marked area and engage any enemies it sees)

with this script you can set it up where you only want just transport if you want, or any feature you want.
