Mission seems good. Blew the radar without incident on the third retry after I'd improved my approach but every time I try to use squad mates to use satchel charges they blow them as soon as they're out of blast radius. Putting me off playing this and like missions totally. Pretty sure it's a new bug because I've tested it with no addons in the editor and get the same results and I'm sure I can remember giving touch off orders in OFP without incident. Anyone else getting this?

Just about to try the mission, will report back and see if I get the same issues.

Well, here's my take on the mission.

Approaching the radar tower I got a message saying the convoy was leaving in 15 mins. I was far away from the route the convoy was going to take so figured I would hit the convoy and return afterwards for the radar tower.

Got my guys in an elevated position in the treeline near a bend in the road where the convoy would be passing. Ordered them all to halt and I hot footed it down to the road and planted two satchel charges on the road itself.

Legged it back up to join my guys in the treeline and waited for the convoy to arrive. Arrive it did.

Touched off two satchel charges and zapped 2 of the trucks. The HUMVEE was too far ahead so had to resort to manually taking it out. Third truck was also still mobile but at this point one of my guys opened up with an RPG and got it.

Then the trouble started!!.

The odds stacked against you after you destroy the convoy and attempt to withdraw are rather over the top. Loads of infantry and a few vehicles arrive as well as a LAV-25. Then an enemy chopper starts flying around above. I was cut to ribbons within 3 minutes or so of destroying the convoy and attempting to retreat to safety in order to plan my next move.

I'd suggest dropping the "counter attack" to an easier to deal with level. After all, you are ambushing this convoy without them being prepared for it. There's no way a load of enemy troops would suddenly appear within seconds and shoot you too bits after one of their convoys was attacked.

A very nice mission so far, was enjoying it up till the point where all these enemy forces appeared quickly.

Think part of the problem is that satchels still count as high visibility weapons. Even if you blow them at maximum range with no enemy LOS all enemy within a large radius still get alot of knowsabout and will pinpoint your location as if you'd been spotted at the scene.

I don't think that's true. It was just bug in Arma 1 and they've got rid of it.

Didn't work for me on clean cut 2. Blew up a squad on a field from behind a low stone wall 200m away while prone and in 3rd person I saw the two remaining enemy from the squad look straight at me and stayed covering me. Could be coincidence though, I havent tested it with a knowsabout text output.
