ICE-Raver 10 Posted July 11, 2009 (edited) I cannot get past this issue. I posted about it a couple a days ago but didn't really get any useful feedback. Every game I play I get this error sometimes quickly, sometimes well into the match. It starts counting with a timer and eventually says I lost connection to the server. Thing is I am still connected to teamspeak and xfire. Not only that but I can tab out and connect to the web so its not that I am losing connection to the internet. I am beyond frustrated at this point. I just updated my rig and got the game running kinda decent but this is getting the better of me. Noobofthenight 10 Posted July 11, 2009 I've had the same thing, even on LAN, so it is not a server connection thing, it is clearly something wrong with the net code, I too feel your pain ICE, I really wanted to do campaign with my brother, rather than solo, so this is very frustrating. Dogtags 0 Posted July 11, 2009 No its all of them. I play on 5 or 6 different servers normally and I get this on all of them. ADSL? Maybe your line filter is stuffed or something along those lines. I am afraid that I do not believe this problem is the game. Look at the forums there are hardly any issues with staying connected to a server, most issues are CTD's or graphical problems. I would start with you end and work your way to your ISP. Maybe try pinging something like another website with ping www.whatever.com -n 100 remember some websites will just timeout straight away www.everquest.com is ok ping that and see if you get many timeouts or blocks of timeouts. linnx88 10 Posted July 11, 2009 (edited) No this has nothing to do with any filters. I get the same issue on all the servers and ONLY in ARMA 2. It's a game bug. I spoke to a server admin last night on one of the bigger servers and he says it happens with the game, not with the server, the server always has very low pings and is on a brand new machine in US. BI needs to fix these latencies. Also when there is red text, we can still usually speak for another 30 seconds before the server completely crashes. So if it was connection issues, how on earth would we be able to talk on a server that has no connection? Edited July 11, 2009 by linnx88
ICE-Raver 10 Posted July 11, 2009 ADSL? Maybe your line filter is stuffed or something along those lines. First thing I checked was my dsl. I have a dedicated 10meg/756 line at my house. I don't have a land line for phone at all so I do not run filters. I checked my line with multiple speed tests and everything was good.. Then I checked for packetloss using ping plotter pro and a couple of other tools. No packet loss detected. Finally I told dsl that their service was dropping out to get a service guy out;) He tested everything and said it was perfect and actually better than most he sees. He found a few errors but nothing major. He ended up putting me on a different line for the hell of it and it runs better now than ever. No I don't think it is my internet connection at all. Maybe something in my router or windows. But not my DSL.
deanob 10 Posted October 6, 2009 I have the same problem... Did you find any solution as yet?
kklownboy 43 Posted October 6, 2009 does it happen more coming out of Map mode? Do you play with a pagefile? Can you flush the vram when it happens? Your using SLi what is your total Vram amount? 1Gb, XGb? Are you using Default Vidmem in the game settings? Are you using a resolution in game higher than your Desktop? maronkoman 10 Posted January 4, 2010 I had the same problem in Arma 2 MP. Almost smashed my pc to shreds in aggression when I had earned a shitload of money and the "no message recieved" message came up. Time after time. But I tried turning my Norton Antivirus completly off, and there, It worked for long times without the message popping up. Sometimes being protected from viruses can be a pain in the ass!
