overkill 0 Posted March 12, 2002 I downloaded the trainer so that I could mess around in the single player missions. I couldnt figure out how to load it! I've tried starting up the trainer before and during the game, and it wont work. I must be missing the obvious. Can someone help me??
Tex -USMC- 0 Posted March 12, 2002 Ive got an idea: DONT USE TRAINERS.
LordZach 0 Posted March 12, 2002 pour lighter fluid in your cpu and light it. trianers are bad mmmkay
Damage Inc 0 Posted March 12, 2002 Have you tried pouring lighter fluid in your CPU ? Well trainers are bad anyway and can also activate FADE if you're unlucky.
Aculaud 0 Posted March 12, 2002 Cheating is for games that arent meant to be realistic. and even those, you shouldnt cheat at. Theres a way to get the same results a trainer would give without using a trainer; Become a Better Player!!!
Airwolf 50 Posted March 13, 2002 the comps are easy, you dont even need a trainer, its the real people that offer the challenge.
Tex -USMC- 0 Posted March 13, 2002 And dont even try to feed us that bullshit line: "Oh, I only want to use it in Singleplayer." Yeah right. The only reason you'd use trainers would be to cheat in Multiplayer, and EVEN if you arent doing it for that, you are obviously too clueless that playing the Singleplayer without cheats would do you some good

Safe to say that I'm not some little kid that cannot play worth beans. I too cannot stand cheating on multiplayer games. It is pointless. I merely saw the trainer and wanted to play "rambo style" on the missions that I have already played. Simple as that. So do not be so quick to judge someone ok? The fact is I assumed that you could not use any kind of trainers in mp to begin with. But if I was a 15 year old, with nothing but time on my hands, Then I really wouldn't need to come to this forum and ask how to use it, for I'm sure that all I would have to do is ask my peers.. Fact is, becuase of my age, I'm not really in the mainstream of whats happening in the gaming world, that is why my lame question automatically makes you assume that I am a younger than I am.... How old do you think the people that made the game are? Think that makes any difference about weather or not they play it too? It also doesnt make any sense to use it as an excuse to play "Rambo" style in missions youve already done, because the fact remains that OFP is not a rambo style game. this is the reason you cant do things like run as fast as cars while carrying a rocket launcher and still being able to fire it accurately, or fire a fully automatic weapon with little to no recoil while running just as fast. If this game, and everything it encompasses, were to suddenly shift to rambo style, would it be nearly as fun? my vote would go to "no" with no regrets on that one. This game was simply meant to be played realisticly.
Aculaud 0 Posted March 13, 2002 and for the record, as per my understanding, far less of us than you might think are fifteen year olds with nothing but time on our hands.

But the fact is, that it IS a game. Because you find no need to fool around with a trainer does not automatically mean everyone has the same opnion. Because I asked how to use a trainer, everyone assumes that my objective is to use it to cheat. Well you are ALL mistaken. Anyone who has playd with me in MP (Overkill) can surley attest to the fact that my gameplay is fair and consistent with the usual statistics of one's gameplaying abilities. Antichrist 0 Posted March 13, 2002 Well u don't really need a trainer to play a game Rambo style Just buy Red Hammer Its got more rambo style than Rambo himself My kills during the campaign (was writing them down) Infantry = 527 kills Armoured Units (BMP, Tanks, Shilkas) = 76 kills Cars and trucks = 16 kills Choppers and planes = 16 kills And it is like 20 missions It was kinda fun but I reckon BIS should do something to improve this. Cause this is not really realistic
PFC_Mike 2 Posted March 13, 2002 Look, the guy wants to use a trainer. Maybe he's stuck on a mission, or he just wants to smack Charlie around a bit. As long as he's not messing up anyone else's game, why should I care if he uses a trainer? Maybe someone could just help him get the trainer to run. Jeez. LordZach 0 Posted March 13, 2002 well if ur a really well trained guy vs a squad fresh out of basic you should have no problem. i've mowed down entire squads with a M-16 on semi before. god knows how low their difficulty was set at but i could see it happening. Maybe someone could just help him get the trainer to run. Jeez.<span id='postcolor'> Exactly, thank you for supporting my point. It seems like you can use the trainer in MP judging from all these negative responses. I assumed that you could not use the trainer in anything other than single missions. If people are frustrated that others cheat online using the trainer, then perhaps they should just say they rather not show me how rather than automatically assuming that  my intentions were to use it in MP. Though I have dsl, and enjoy hosting, I cannot at this time, but I would think that the host has the option of booting players during the game? It would seem to me that anyone using the trainer online would stick out like a sore thumb... And in reference to that person (Aculaud) that gave me his ( and according to him, everyone's for that matter) lecture on realism, and the fact that there is no need for the trainer, I know there have been times that I create unrealistic missions in the mission editor just to have some fun. Whether it be sniping down mulitple platoons of troops, or just blasting other vehicles with a copter or tank. I surely would think that I am not the only one who does this. Is it possible that the reason why someone may ask how to use the trainer is becuase he/she may want to have FUN? Afterall, isnt having FUN one of the reasons for the GAME???? And that is that a lot of people are quite presumptuous as far as responding to questions asked by newbies (not calling you a newbie). And, a game it may be, however some games were meant for rambo style, as was pointed out earlier (i.e. quake, unreal tournament, and to a certain extent, Delta Force Land Warrior.) But hey, i'm not one to tell someone how to play, no matter what the game. So try your luck with it. who knows, maybe it'll be fun? My advice, just try messing around with it. Thats pretty much how lots of people here learn stuff about the game. Try going to the site you got it from and see if it says anything on correct operational procedures. If none of that works, i guess its just back to good old fashioned "kill or be killed".
Aculaud 0 Posted March 13, 2002 and as you stated originally, you thought you might just be missing the obvious. If you still think of that as a possibility, then thats what you should search for; the obvious. Look for things on the trainer window that you may not know what they do and just give them a shot. something like that could work. In theory (High emphisis on "in theory"), they wouldnt release it if it wasnt just a little bit user friendly.

Tex -USMC- 0 Posted March 13, 2002 Look, I may have come off a little strong, but you know, if you are serious sbout it, get one of these guys to give you their ICQ # or AIM name or whatever, and they could help you in private. However, because of the potentially devestating effects trainers would have on OFP multiplayer, I think itd be innapropriate that instructions to use one of these programs be placed right out here for every dumbass newbie to see. I hope you understand what Im saying.

Major Fubar 0 Posted March 13, 2002 I just dont understand all of you people who are so down on trainers and single player cheats. Why should it bother you so much if other people use them? It's not like it's any of your f**king business, actually. Here's a tip: if you don't like trainers/cheats, don't use them. But dont feel like that gives you the right to thumb your noses like spolied 8 year old brats at people who do. Grow up. To all those who want to use trainers/SP cheats for fun, or to pass levels you get stuck on, Major Fubar sez go for it. Don't listen to the whiners who think it's wrong. It's your game, you paid for it, and you can do whatever the hell you like with it. Nuff said.
