Mojohell 10 Posted July 4, 2009 Hello guys, I have some questions which could look like stupid for some experimented players but it will be nice to answer. I search on the web but my English is limited so I think I didn't write the correct words because I didn't find answers. First, in solo and multiplayer they ask me my position ("where are you?") but I didn't find the way to give the grid position like I see people do it (like:" I am in 068444"). I presume it has something to do with the GPS but I can't do nothing else than open it (Right Ctrl+M) and I didn't find it in the command options. So may you explain to me please? Second, how can I localize an enemy in multiplayer? In solo it do it alone (even if I see nothing ) or I push the "space bar". But what about multiplayer? Third, the green and red smoke. How can I throw it? I did it without know how. One time I use the launcher on the M16 I think, second time directly from my hands. When I use the "F" key I saw the strategic smoke but not the colored smokes. Thanks a lot! I hope I could use your advises and my little experience of beginner to write a thread with tips for beginner in few weeks. Because it's a great game but the E-book from steam is not complete enough and tutorial is too basic (well I didn't have the time to finish all :D ).
xxbbcc 6 Posted July 4, 2009 1. As a player, you cannot give your position to the AI. You can select your AI team members (~) or F1, F2,... and then click on the ground nearby you to tell them to move there. 2. Not quite sure what you mean. I have a custom key setup, so I'm not sure what space does, but I believe it's for commanding mode when you have AI team members and you're team leader. (You see the environment in 3-rd person mode and can zoom out.) That's not available when you're not team leader or you're alone. You locate enemies by watching out for their traces: movement sounds, rifle flashes, bullet hit sounds, etc. You should get behind cover and lean around the corner to look around before moving through open areas. 3. I think (not 100% sure), you need a weapon with the M203 grenade launcher for those. You switch the weapon to the smoke grenade mode and shoot them. I might be wrong, I rarely use smoke grenades. Check out this thread and tutorial that comes with it for more info: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=74994 Also, go through all the basic training. no use for a name 0 Posted July 4, 2009 about the smoke...if you have different colors in your loadout you select smoke grenade, then you use your action menu (typically the one you use your mouse wheel with) and there should be an option to load the other colors. This works for both the m203 and hand held smokes
frederf 0 Posted July 4, 2009 If it's still like ArmA1 then you don't have to "reload" your "hand weapon" between the various throwable items. They all appear as separate muzzles so 'F' cycles through M4, Hand Grenade, Smoke, Smoke (Red) all the same. You have to have these items in your inventory to use them, check Gear 'G.' "Where are you?" means "I'm lost." It's not a question that you reply to.
