Fabregas 10 Posted July 2, 2009 Does this command actually work? Is there a special way of issuing the order? I can't get it to work at all, and all it seems to do is make my team less responsive to threats and danger. I hit the dirt under a hail of fire, and they stand like numpties looking in the wrong direction and ignoring any form of cover.
paragraphic l 2 Posted July 2, 2009 copy stance? You mean that when you are crouched and order the rest of the team to have their stance at "stay crouched" for example, you give them the copy stance command? It's just another way to give the same command. They have multiple voice files/commands for most options.
Fabregas 10 Posted July 2, 2009 I was hoping that the copy stance command was an ongoing command, otherwise it is completely pointless. If we come under fire for example and I drop, I might want the rest of my team to follow my lead automatically, rather than wait for me to issue the prone command. Not that they copy my current or subsequent stance anyway.
Helmut_AUT 0 Posted July 2, 2009 "Copy Stance" basically means you let the AI chose what to do, as opposed to "Stand up, crouch or prone" selections in the same menu which 100% force them. They should usually follow your example, but the AI in A2 is a lot more independent-minded than in A1 it seems. If you want to make them go prone, use Combat or Stealth mode, should help. whisper 0 Posted July 2, 2009 In OFP your AI were more or less copying your current stance (they could change if needing to sprint to stay in formation) In ArmA2, they pretty much never copy you current stance and will use whatever they feel like depending on situation

But is "Copy Stance" meant like this? Seems as if I (miss)understood the command like Fabregas did! I "hoped" for an order that really brings your AI-guys to do what you do. Forcing them to a position s*cks, as you have to change it manually "all" the time. Like Fabregas said, when I spot an enemy and drop myself into the dirt I want them to do it too! A human player might do that but, as good as AI is in ArmA2, I would like to have better control over them and a "real" Copy Stance command would help. Should/Could be a suggestion for a little addition ;)
Fabregas 10 Posted July 2, 2009 Exactly. There are already plenty of options that leave stance positions up to the AI. A "copy stance" command, in my mind, should be an order not helpful advice.
frederf 0 Posted July 2, 2009 Copy Stance replaces the old ArmA1 "Keep Low" that was a mixture of "follow my lead" and "try to stay low." For example if you told your squad to keep low they would match your stance while moving but if you told them to halt they would settle to prone pretty quickly even if you're still standing. I don't know if "Copy Stance" is simply a renamed but unaltered version of "Keep Low" or if it's more literal/strict now.

C-O-P-Y M-Y stance.
vshadow 0 Posted July 2, 2009 I think you find it is titled keep low (which I liked on ofp and arma) but when you use the command it says “copy me†or something like that, in which my AI usually look at me as to say “no†and continue running standing up. frederf 0 Posted July 2, 2009 Ah, right, it's still called "Keep Low" in the interface right? The fact that he says over the radio "copy my stance" is just another example of the new voice writing having no clue about military terminology. You say "Return to Formation" and your avatar spurts out "Fall back!" which totally isn't the same concept at all. He also asks for "SITREP" when you want status which is pretty off as well.
