Fasdaff 10 Posted June 27, 2009 So in the squad leadership Boot Camp mission, I get to the part where I need to select a particular soldier. But it doesn't work. Now, I have a Logitech keyboard and the function keys are defaultly mapped to do various things such as open Microsoft Office programs. But in games this is usually no problem and they do what they are supposed to do for the game, not those other functions. However, in ArmA the keys will minimize the game and do whatever other thing they are supposed to do. So I stopped the function keys from doing their other functions and tried selecting my squad member again. But this time, it just did nothing. I went into Controls to find ithe action (it's under Select right?) and there was nothing mapped to it. I tried mapping my function keys but nothing happened. I tried mapping function keys to other actions but it didn't work. So it appears that ArmA 2 does not recognize my function keys. Is there any reason for this? Fasdaff 10 Posted June 28, 2009 I can't control my damn squad. Why doesn't ArmA like my function keys?
Fasdaff 10 Posted June 29, 2009 Okay so I found out that the "Select" action listed in Controls is not the action I'm thinking of, the one that's controlled by the function keys. I don't know why it's blank, but nevermind about that. But still, why can't I select individual units? Keyboard drivers are up to date.
zuel 10 Posted July 8, 2009 Same problem. Using a Microsoft keyboard with the dinky alternate function keys. With or without the F-lock it still does nothing in game.
Variable 322 Posted September 30, 2009 Same problem. You can work around the problem if you select all team by the ~ key and then pointing at the soldier you want to select (even if there is no line of sight to him) and clicking. BI- Can you please refer to the problem?
Yoma 0 Posted September 30, 2009 You probably just need to remove the extra key mappings? I also have a logitech keyboard and it works perfectly fine without any tricks at all. I just don't map function keys to other stuff. You could at least try removing the mappings for testing. Also other programs may have the same problem! Maybe "mapping" the keys actually sends keyboard shortcuts so for example F1 does not send F1 at all but sends CTRL+S. I don't think this is an Arma2 problem?
