USSRsniper 0 Posted June 27, 2009 Hello, just to know is the new Arma 2 tools will be avaible for Vista x64 ? or stay with winXP ? Yes, ArmA 1 tools run with no problems in Vista x64, same will be with tools for ArmA 2.

rocket 9 Posted June 28, 2009 I use Vista 64bit Ultimate, with 8gb of RAM, and I run the tools fine. I do get crashes sometimes using the texture viewer, but I use the command line prompt or the Adobe plugin to convert my textures anyway.
[frl]myke 15 Posted June 28, 2009 @PicVert The existing tools definately work with VistaX64 although they do not work with ArmA 2. For O2 preview you will need ArmA 1 installed and set as viewer. TexView2 can't handle ArmA 2 .paa/.pac file formats but ArmA 1 .paa/.pac will work in ArmA 2.

soul_assassin 1750 Posted June 29, 2009 O2 viewer can be set to ArmA2 without any problems, just a little work. You need to extract the new arma2 shaders from bin.pbo to P:\bin\ then change the paths in O2 configurations. TexView 2 -> it is true that it cannot open .paa files of A2 but you can still save .paa files with it and they will work in ArmA2 without problems. Refrain from using the Photoshop plugin to save to .paa. Better use TexView2. All tools work under Vista 64, however the TexView2 tool has a problem with the open/Save dialog so just drag files into it if you want to open them and save to the same folder. rocket 9 Posted June 30, 2009 As a side note, I setup a directory with a bat file, and I batch convert my textures. I just drop all the textures I want in that directory, double click on the bat file, and it goes through and converts them all. I find this much easier than loading them all up in TextView2 (which sometimes crashes on my Vista64), and waaay faster than doing the export in photoshop. I use TGA's for anything alpha'd, and PNG's for everything else.
