koenigsegg 10 Posted June 25, 2009 I have been playing demo today, I experimented with the settings and cannot fix a stutter that seems to be getting my fps down to as low as 10 fps at times. My specs:QX9650@3.00 EVGA GTX 260 Superclocked 2GB DDR3 mem Vista 32 I dont think its temperature as i ran a log during gameplay and everything was normal. And strangely, it was running ok at very high for the first hour or so... Anyone have some suggestions?

Dwarden 1125 Posted June 25, 2009 you mean stuttering like ... smooth - freeze/stutter - smooth - freeze/stutter approx with 0.8-2s interval ?
lt.white 10 Posted June 26, 2009 yes thats what i mean it stutters ---------- Post added at 12:27 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:25 AM ---------- does anyone know how to fix that issue
teaboy 11 Posted June 26, 2009 people like myself that have the full game have also got the same problem with stuttering, for me its not a massive problem but hopefully BIS fix it soon. one thing that does seem to improve it is to reduce your view distance in the video options. But that may not work for everyone.

Dwarden 1125 Posted June 26, 2009 ok one friendly advice, several people who experienced this were able solve the problem by (order doesnt matter sometimes they needed only some sometime all): - temporary disabling antivirus while running ArmA 2 - disabling all unneeded applications (especially browsers, media players, scanners etc.) - using windowed mode instead of fullscreen - using fullscree mode instead of windowd - disabling forced AA / AF in drivers (huge performance killer as game does that self ingame) - changing ingame advanced video settings (needs lot of try&fail cycles) - using -maxmem=2047 (with 3+ GB ram only) - restarting OS - defragmenting drive - place ArmA 2 (demo) on different drive than OS (2 HDD system) and ideally different than swap file (3 HDD system) - updating drivers - installing SP2 for Vista

Placebo 29 Posted July 3, 2009 Do not post Directx DX Diag txt files please, 99.9% of the information is useless and it makes the thread unreadable for everyone. Manually post a list of the most pertinent hardware + OS + drivers+ settings.
teaboy 11 Posted July 3, 2009 (edited) Placebo you got a great way of taking notes and using peoples feedback given to help the developers solve this graphical issue, haven't you? Yeah, just delete the the information the customers give on there graphics cards, which is probably a key bit of information, just because its taken from their dxdiag. weather it cut and pasted from dxdiag or manually inputted doesnt change the fact it the same dam information with or without the 99.9% useless information. Speacking of which i think ull find your percentage calculation on the useless info is some what wrong by a long shot. it more like between 80% and 85% useless Yes i agree pasting the whole thing is untidy and uneasy to read which is why i only pasted the vital parts such as system info, and Graphic card information (which u deleted) and nothing more. Ban me for my rant if u like, but am a paying customer that bought a game that isn't fully playable to the standard i and many others would expect. so deleting information we provide as feedback just annoys us even more as we want and are well within our rights to want and expect this to be fixed. and if it cant be fixed then we just basically wasted our hard earned money on a game thats hardly playable to us. and in current times that hard earnt money could have been better spent. now dont get me wrong cos i do belive this game has the potential to be epic but it needs fixing first and am more then willing to keep playing even with the graphically issue till it is fixed but i wont play it like it is now for much longer and i dont think the others will either. P.s No suggestions mentioned so far work and dont even get me started on the single player campaign bug that stops u going onto the next mission not to mention have no control of your team mates in one mission and start of the next. Jesus did this game even get tested before release. Edited July 3, 2009 by teaboy
Placebo 29 Posted July 3, 2009 Whilst not addressing your rant completely, if you were so adamant that all that you posted was crucial why didn't you at least spoiler it so it's not forced on anyone who views the thread? Simple button press. I'm sorry you disagree but the fact remains Dxdiag.txt is useless for troubleshooting solving 999/1,000.
teaboy 11 Posted July 3, 2009 (edited) well if information in or Dxdiag is so useless, then why the hell were we asked to post infomation such as our system information, hardware information and driver information which is in the dxdiag? Also if you read my post fully you'd see that i did not disagree with you when it concerned posting the full dxdiag, which is something i never did in my original post. Yet you still deleted the information about my graphics card, its drivers and it make etc. which i find very hard to believe since the issue this thread is for is more likely down to a graphical issue. And because i only posted what was requested and left out the rest of the non requested info from the dxdiag, then why would i want to spolier it when it was requested? And on top of that, if you would prefer it that way, why didnt you just change it to spoiler, instead of deleting it? after all like you said, it just a click of a button! Plus people that are having these problems would infact be interested in comparing such information as system, hardware and driver infomation to try to get to the bottom of it themselves. Now i dont want an argument with you but your response was not helpful, and only alienated me further, since it appears you either didnt read my last post fully or just simply misunderstood the fact that i agreed with you on not having the whole dxdiag posted. which no one so far, that i have seen, had posted the full dxdiag. if they had it would look like this. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 7/3/2009, 14:18:18 Machine name: ERNEST-PC Operating System: Windows Vistaâ„¢ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_gdr.090302-1506) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Packard Bell BV System Model: IMEDIA B2216 BIOS: Default System BIOS Processor: Intel® Celeron® CPU E1200 @ 1.60GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.6GHz Memory: 1022MB RAM Page File: 1271MB used, 2203MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 10 DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 6.00.6001.18000 32bit Unicode ------------ DxDiag Notes ------------ Display Tab 1: No problems found. NO, they only posted their system infomation, hardware and driver information that am aware off just like they were requested too. Infact Placebo your post has done nothing but the opposite than that of dwarden posts. At least he/she was trying to be helpful and aid in solving the issue. So my point is at the end of the day i posted as much of what was requested by dwarden as i could that being the system information, graphics hardware and drivers for them. I did not post the dxdiag just the infomation out of it that was requested. Only for you to come along and delete it and tell us not to post or dxdiag when i never posted that in the first place. Therefore less the 2% of your so called 99.9% useless information contained in the dxdiag was actually posted. And that i find very alienating, and i find your response to my rant being some what ignorant. Also this issue isnt just in the demo (thread title) its also in the retail version which what i have, just incase i didnt mention that before. Bulldogs 10 Posted September 21, 2009 Lawless, are you using a core i7 cpu, or a p4/celeron CPU, if so then try disabling Hyper Threading in your BIOS.
