Tincup 10 Posted June 25, 2009 This is my first post on these forums so let me start off by saying hello. I am retired Army with several years of service, and I used to be an avid played of the original OFP. However, I did not play the first iteration of ARMA. After the release of numerous horrible games that had labeled themselves as tactical shooters (ie COD4 and BF2 and the likes), I stopped playing shooters for some time. I have been watching ARMA 2 and another game (which I am sure you all know-OFP2) closely as these games fall into the category of a real tactical shooters. I am glad I have found a like minded community that thinks games should not be set to "easy mode", and you should have to work as a team since there is no such thing as an Army of one. One question I have since the game is not released in the US until tomorrow is, How is you ingame name determined if you have the Steam released version? Some games assign your Steam login name as your ingame name as well. I was just wondering if anyone knew. There are other games that allow you to set your name in the multiplayer setting in the game itself. If someone that beta tested or one of the EU members that have the game already could clarify, I would appreciate it. Well it is time for work, Tincup
Placebo 29 Posted June 25, 2009 You can set your name manually within the game's User Profile options :)
odjob 0 Posted June 25, 2009 You can set your name manually within the game's User Profile options :) Is there a way to change the "default" name you are given (Windows login name)? or do i have to create a new profile?
maddogx 13 Posted June 25, 2009 Is there a way to change the "default" name you are given (Windows login name)? or do i have to create a new profile? No, that one is locked. You have to create a new profile. (I keep forgetting this too. If you've already setup your key settings, you can just copy them from the old profile into the new one.)
