Lima-14 10 Posted June 24, 2009 Im getting no end of problems playing MP - And I'd like to know if I can expect half decent gameplay from my (old) Rig. graphics: D3D9, Device: NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GS ,(521MB VRAM), Driver:nv4_disp.dll 6.14.11.8585 - resolution: 1024x768x32 Windows XP Pro - SP3, 1Gb RAM. In game I keep getting: (Receiving..) after 15-30 mins of gameplay.. I even tried going to map (M) and back to game - It seemed to have limited success, but now even that doesnt get me out of the (receiving) screen. FraG_AU 10 Posted June 25, 2009 I really think you will struggle mate, I would say upgrade but heck state of the art machines dont run this game as it should... waiting on the performance patch
Fox '09 14 Posted June 25, 2009 Frag's right, even my awesome machine has a little struggles here and there. No offense but the GeForce 7XXX series are starting to become obsolete.
Lima-14 10 Posted June 25, 2009 Frag's right, even my awesome machine has a little struggles here and there. No offense but the GeForce 7XXX series are starting to become obsolete. Agreed.. my pc's getting 'long in the tooth' so to speak.. but like you said and what Ive read in these forums - even high spec machines are having a hard time copeing with ARMAII maxed out (so to speak).. Well thanks for the input.. much appreciated.. Regards Lima-
wildone_106 10 Posted June 25, 2009 Mine doesn't run it even on normal..."RECIEVING" constantly...
EightSeven 10 Posted June 25, 2009 If you get more RAM I think you might be able to handle it, but all around it looks like you're ready for a total upgrade (new mobo with PCI-E 2.x support, DDR3, etc.).
S!fkaIaC 10 Posted June 25, 2009 Gentlemen, a rig can be old, then an application can run slow. With ArmA we have the issue that for some old and new rigs it runs fine, for some old and new with BSODs, CTDs etc. I would say that both in SW and HW development words like Quality and Reliability have no meaning.
