How much hard drive space does arma 2 use?

o guess its time to by a new hard drive then does it matter if you install the game on a diff hard drive or do you have to install it on the hard drive that your os is installed on?

Doesn't matter what harddrive/partition. Got my ArmA 2 on my large partition Vista was originally on, while using the smaller partition for Win 7 RC.

you can install it on it's own drive like i have done.

a 250gig 10k rpm WD rapter drive is perfect and cheap.

to install the download version u need the 6gb or so for the download, 9 gb temporary on the os drive for the unpack and then 9 gb on whatever drive ur installing on permanent.

What was your reasoning for that?

250GB is an insane amount of space for one game. All of the games on my steam list barley use that much.

But they are not as good as ArmA :p

With MODs expect to fill that over the year.

Theres more to a hard-drive than just space. Consider seek times and cache sizes. The OP was saying that he was running out of space on his current drive, [FHA]Dynamo was suggesting a new drive to buy.
