ok, i found another CD key, but is it safe?

You should use the CD key that came with your game...or...if you don't have that you should:

Take it back to the store and get another box

Call / email BIS or codemasters and ask what to do.

I mean, you don't have sneak around using other people's cd keys if you actually bought the game. Now if you didn't, shame on you. It is only what, $40?

Aside from the moral issues, there is a practical problem: if you found the CD key online somewhere, you will sooner or later run into other thieves online who uses the same well-known CD key.

Since OFP will kick players with the same key, over time, the CD key you have will become useless. And giving it to your buddies will only accelerate the process.
