Arma menu bug.

Recommended Posts

Hello I've recently downloaded the ArmA Combat Operations demo and for some reason the menu is bugged as you can see from the screen shot i have taken.

armabug.jpg

Is there a fix for this? remember this is on my demo not the full game. i don't want to buy the game and then not like it or realize that doesn't work as well.

My specs are:

Windows vista 32bit

4gb ddr2 800mhz ram

nvidia gtx260

intel quad core Q6600 2.4ghz

Asus P5N72-T Premium nForce 780i

is there anyway to fix this or is it just cos of my spec?

Wow dude.. That's exactly the same problem i'm having albeit i run on 64 bit vista. But there's a vista troubleshooting thread right above. :bounce3:

P.S. It still has the problem on the full game as well.

Click your arma shortcut with right mousebutton, choose "properties" and after "arma.exe" add "-window".Don't change anything else!

this is how i fixed it with the full game, not sure if it will work with the demo:

Fullscreen mode: Limit your System Memory to 3GB by a simple change of settings and a reboot:

Press windowskey+R, and run msconfig

At the boot tab, pick advanced options and put maximum memory to 3072

Reboot

You can also revert the setting by above method to get your full 4GB back

taken from HERE

if you end up liking it and purchase the full game, patch 1.14 resolves this issue and allowed me to undo the fix i posted above.

If you guys try with some older Nvidia driver, do you still get the same? I'm using 182.xx as I was having similar kind of problems with newer ones...

a tip if u want to solve it with 1.16 beta.

Check the shortcut..

%path-to-arma%\arma.exe -mod=beta doesnt work

%path-to-arma%\beta\arma.exe does

I had some issues with it atleast

I changed msconfig to only use 3072MB memory, and it worked, but ran like crap, so I tried the '-window' method and it worked like a charm!
