Voice of the closest players on field

Recommended Posts

My suggestion would be to create a system where we can hear the speeches of the closest (in multiplayer) players. For example just like in real life. If I talk to the guy who is next to me on the bus, he hears it.. but the guy at the far end of the bus does not hear nothing - so I do not disturb him.

I could found a similar feature in game already, when I hear the groans of the closest soldiers. So my advice would be to place a system like I mentioned into multi-player part of the game. I believe this could increase the activity of teamwork and the level of gaming.

Just imagine how this system would work in action:

3 of us are actually trying to attack a town and we are close to each other (3-15 meters), and with our voice we are simply able to coordinate each other and carry out the task more effectively, without getting disturbed by others who are working on a different task.

This is already in the game and has been since OFP. Simply switch your ingame chat channel to "direct communication" and fire away.

Choose channel "Direct", press Caps Lock and speak. Its already implemented and fully working since ArmA1.

.....meh, seconds too slow

Indeed. The mouth also moves synchronized to the speech.

It's a good thing that people actually investigate before they make requests.

VOIP in ArmA was some of the most fun I've ever had.

It doesn't work. I haven't tried out multiplayer yet, but in singleplayer if a soldier you're not in group with (eg. other group or enemy team), you won't see his lips move nor hear any voice or sound.

And in ArmA 1 you could hear people talk on radio in multiplayer, if you were close enough.

MulleDK19, Direct channel, not Group channel. VOIP, text chat, and map markers are always tied to the channel!

Even the map markers? :o

Yes! Omg, you have no idea how many people had no idea that map markers come in channels.

Also I've chewed out more than one person for using the "red four arrows" default marker when it was inappropriate for the marker use. You can change the shape and color for a reason!
