kocrachon 2 Posted June 11, 2009 So right now I am flying in a V-22 and the game skips constantly when I fly by the big towns because the buildings pop up while Im flying by, so its like the game is taking forever to load the buildings. My setup goes as follows ATi 4870 8 gigs of ram at 4-4-4-12 Intel Q9450 quad core at 2.66 each core. Extreme Gamer Soundcard from Creative My settings are as follows. Resolution is 1680 x 1050 Fillrate Optimizer at 133% All effects maxed except post effects at low. Shouldnt my machine be able to handle the game at these details? I find if i run textures on default and object to normal I don't get those popups. Q9550 @ 3.4 1920x1080 gtx

bangtail 0 Posted June 13, 2009 What OS?. Sounds similar to the issue I'm getting. Set your texture setail and Texture video mem to normal and set fillrate to 100%. Any use of fillrate above 100% is a performance killer. Yes, I know, it doesnt look as good but until there is some engine optimization, it is the best choice. Also, dont have your view distance set too high. I find 2400 is a good compromise. Eth PS : Even though I get decent FPS (30 -60) with fillrate higher than 100%, the game feels sluggish, as if there is some kind of input lag. i7 975 ASUS P6T6 Revo 3 x BFG 280 GTX OC 12 Gigs Muskin XP3-12800 DDR3 Auzentech Forte 2 x 160 X-25 SSD 2 x WD 1TB Caviar Black Etc
Toko -1-8th- 10 Posted June 13, 2009 Have you tried running disk defrag? When I ran it after installing the 8 GB of files I noticed a lot of the ArmA 2 files were fragmented.
Snake Man 407 Posted June 13, 2009 I have no idea if this is new ArmA 2 problem or not, but in fact you need to turn UP the object detail to make sure the objects are drawn at great distances, perhaps it helps so that they are not popping up late. Might just be a glitch on the engine though, no idea.
