theavonlady 2 Posted March 8, 2002 Indeed. We own a Toyota tank, a Land Cruiser.
DodgeME 0 Posted March 8, 2002 I am pretty sure l can destroy an Abram with 3 shots from a T-80. Anyway 1 shot kill from afar is unrealistic anyway. Hope it gets fixed in 1.
Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted March 8, 2002 U cant kill it with 3 shots. And if u can,. its pprobably because its been repaired. This is probably a bug BIS? That the tank seams repaired but isnt?
Corp.Pihla 0 Posted March 8, 2002 Just wanted to enlighten Wooble: T-72 and T-80 does not, I repeat does NOT have same gun... Both guns are 125mm, but they are NOT same... (T-72 has 2A46 and T-80 2A26M-1)
Tovarish 0 Posted March 8, 2002 Last night in CTF.I'm in a repaired M1A1. (was pretty baldy busted before). 1 LAW to the turret (think it was from the side). and the tank goes up in flames.
DodgeME 0 Posted March 8, 2002 Same happent to me with an M60. Repaired it and 1 law was enough to destroy me Anywaty Wooble the M1A1 does not die from 1 shot lol. I tried some single player missions and saw that the M1A1 is still very durable. I started the mission and l got hit by laws and some heat rounds with only minor damage. Then l got a shot from a bmp and a law and a T-80 shot. I was badly damaged but still turret was working like a bitch refusing to die Muhahahahahahaha Anyway nothing changed for me as far as durability!

Once you repair a badly damaged tank the armour seem to turn into wet paper tissue.
Guest Posted March 8, 2002 The T72 has a bigger more badass gun than the M1A. Proof - this is from my "Soldier's Manual of Common Tasks" (a.k.a War for dummies). Btw, check the print year on the front! -> 125 mm ->105 mm Close range, sure one shot would be enoug for any tank, but you never seem to get close in real life
Tovarish 0 Posted March 8, 2002 Yep those X's sure look impressive. Anyway I prefer eastern hardware myself but even I'll admit a T-72 is easily outclassed by an M1A1. Just look at Iraq
Guest Posted March 8, 2002 Well, the M1A2 is newer.. compare it to the T-90 or T-80. The post 1988 T72s with the Explosive Reactive Armour upgrade are still not to be underestimated. Iraq is a bad example for US vs Soviet technology. For a number of reasons: 1] Iraq had been severely bombed before the ground war. 2] The US had satellite overhead 3] The US had GPS-fitted tanks 4] Do I need to say airsupport? Tovarish 0 Posted March 8, 2002 K we're getting offtopic here and I'm sure none of us is going to be able to get an M1A1,M60,T-72,T-80 together IRL and figure out how many shots from who kills who. So....Back to that nasty little Bug. BIS, have you guys got your flyswatter handy?
SpaceAlex 0 Posted March 8, 2002 Just tested. Took 4 sabots from T72 or T80 and 7 sabots from M60 or T55 to destroy an Abrams.(i was shooting at the turret. Took 5 sabots from the side). When i repaired damaged abrmas everything was the same. It's possible that this is happening because of the edited config. I'm using original config.
Tovarish 0 Posted March 8, 2002 Original Config here, fresh out of the 1.46 patch
Damage Inc 0 Posted March 8, 2002 Although I think the Abrams could be weakened a little, it's way too powerful.

Tovarish 0 Posted March 8, 2002 Maybe a bit but just one LAW to take it out??? Heh, maybe the other team knew something I didn't because just before the LAW attack they strafed my tank with a Chinook's .50 cal before I put a HEAT into it

Tovarish 0 Posted March 8, 2002 Actually I take my last comment back, The M1A1 should not be weakened, think about it, the M1A1 is to the West what the Hind is to the Soviets (I know I've heard a lot of whining about not being able to penetrate the canopy)

r71 0 Posted March 8, 2002 Three versions of the Abrams tank are currently in service the original M1 model, dating from the early 1980s, and two newer versions, designated M1A1 and M1A2. The M1A1 series, produced from 1985 through 1993, replaced the M1’s 105mm main gun with a 120mm gun and incorporated numerous other enhancements, including an improved suspension, a new turret, increased armor protection, and a nuclear-chemical-biological protection system. The main weapon of the M1A1 is the M256 120mm smoothbore cannon has engagement ranges approaching 4000 meters that were successfully demonstrated during Operation Desert Storm
Aaron Kane 0 Posted March 8, 2002 I say that the next patch should give the current tanks the same stats that they have in AaronAsh's tank-addon thing. I downloaded it and it kicks ass IFV's are actually a threat to tanks now. BMP-2's can disable your abrams in like two missiles, and they can hit strike from beyond visual range
DarkTerritory3 0 Posted March 8, 2002 I didn`t have the bug here either. After repairing i had to shoot the mia1 5 shot with the t-80. Using patch 1.46 with satchel sounds.
