Incognito84 10 Posted June 5, 2009 I'm wondering how this will work exactly. I can't get TrackIR here for various reasons (though I do want it) and I suppose that means I'll have to settle for playing the old fashioned way. What are the keyboard configurations like and is the free look viable? If there is freelook, how does it work with flying? Hold a mouse button to look around and release to steer? Any info would be great. Thanks.
Sniperwolf572 758 Posted June 5, 2009 If it's the same as ArmA1, then you hold the Alt key to activate it and then move the mouse around, when you release it it deactivates. Alternatively, you should also be able to double-tap Alt to toggle it on and off without having to hold the key down.
HOPEnSPIRIT 10 Posted June 5, 2009 I can't get TrackIR here. Where is here?
Incognito84 10 Posted June 5, 2009 Where is here? Korea. I was upgrading my system the other week in the main area for electronics and I didn't see any TrackIR kits. If it was here at all, it would be at that market, unfortunately.
f2k sel 164 Posted June 5, 2009 There is FreeTrack a DIY Version http://www.free-track.net/english/ I did try it and it did work but there was a bit of lag but then my PC isn't the best. I haven't tried it with Arma.
Nicholas 5 Posted June 5, 2009 Free-Look is still the same as ArmA, to look around press and hold the Alt key. To keep free-look on(Liek when driving/flying)double tap Alt to lock free-look on. If oyu dont got a joystick, best way to free look is Numpad keys.

walker 0 Posted June 5, 2009 Hi Incognito84 You can buy TrackIR online from their website. In the first page of the TrackIR 5 thread http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=72436 Dslyecxi has a couple of links to cut the price on either TrackIR 5 or TrackIR 5 with the ProClip. I would go for the one with the proclip. Kind Regards walker
bushlurker 45 Posted June 5, 2009 Sorry incognito.... Freetrack works absolutely fine with arma 1, but NOT with arma 2 ... for "various reasons" you can use any brand of joystick, any brand of mouse, any brand of keyboard, even an Xbox controller... but if you want Headtracking you HAVE to buy TrackIR, regardless of cost... Theres a discussion of this sad situation here..... http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=72569 B
