TheHavoc432 10 Posted April 28, 2009 Ok... i know probably 20 thousand ppl have had this same problem as me but.. i bought arma on steam about a year ago... never had really any trouble with it when i first got it played just fine updated just fine yada yada yada... well i had to do a reformat so i go to install arma again and now i get the same problem that everyone else seems to have... when i try to install the patch to arma it says arma is not installed or the instillation is corrupt... now after reading a hundred different forums and a thousand different answers im here... this is making me extremely pissed off and disappointed in both steam and bohemia at how stupidly difficult this is... now i know im not the first person to point this out nor do i give a shit... i just want to play the damn game ive done everything i can to try to figure this out myself and honestly i was looking forward to buying arma 2 here in a few months but i sure as shit am not going to buy it if i cant get help with this now so please im down on my eKnees begging for help... i really want to play someone send me a link or something im so frustrated i cant think straight but i would really appreciate some help (I emailed bohemia customer support almost a month ago now with no response) so plz link me help me something :( Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

You reformat, install Steam, Install ARMA, apply 1.14 patch: "arma is not installed"? in your "\steamapps\common\arma armed assault" what is the version # of the ARMA.exe? When you install ARMA, do you first play it at the original version before patching? With steam on? Dont update ARMA with steam on. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
TheHavoc432 10 Posted April 28, 2009 exe is 1.8.0.5163 and no when you try to start arma straight from the steam download it says addon cti_buildingsbmp2_hq requires version 1.09 of this application so it wont let me load the game from the get go and i tried with steam on and off and still no luck and i tried to update to 1.09 and got the same msg... the thing is i had simmular problems on my laptop but suddenly it just worked.... kklownboy 43 Posted April 28, 2009 (edited) You start from the .exe , not from a Steam short cut? the only patch you need is the 1.14, the rest are betas and make a beta folder. You reformated but have not installed any addons? The cti-bla bla is a warfare file, i believe it was beta 1.0 at that time (1.08). For you own sanity install your Steam games on a separate HDD or even a SSD, that way when you ever do formats you still have your games, only have to clik on the steam.exe and your good to go! if he has the Atari Steam version, then it should work, you will just have to start Steam and have it verify. path is; Steam\steamapps\common\arma armed assault. Not sure,I will be installing a new Atari/Steam to test, but for people who have Atari/Steam make a backup, Steam lets you, its even recommended. To a HDD or a DVD/DVD's, it just to simple not too.
