From codemasters - gold edition is bugged!

I think the problem is the Gold Edition BOXED set and not the stand alone Gold Upgrades....

Crappy, non-working, useless versions of Operation Flashpoint Gold Edition available only In North America in Specially Marked Boxes. Includes: Non-working Original Full Game, Non-working Gold Expansion Pack and a great illustrated stategy guide which serves as a bitter reminder that you wasted 40-50 US dollars on a useless game that has been sitting on your desk collecting dust after countless wasted hours of trying to get the game to work. New working copies may be mailed to you perhaps next week when all the fun has gone out of playing the game.

I took my gold edition back to electronic boutiques and replaced it with the original as well as the red hammer add on. Loads and works fine now....what a treat.

I hate calling tech support....Why? Lets see....I pay 40 dollars on a brand new game...that doesn't work then I have to pay long distance phone bill! Whoa that makes alot of sense. I might as well be in a state prison picking up bars of soap in the showers. Thanks Codemasters!

OK, they actually responded to my email pretty fast! They want your name, address, CD Key and hub code...once they confirm purchase they'll mail the new one.

RE: Operation Flashpoint Gold Edition flaw

The master disk for the North American version of Operation Flashpoint Gold Edition contained a flaw that was transferred to all copies that prevents the game from loading. This problem does not affect the Gold Upgrade or any other version of Operation Flashpoint in any territory. When Codemasters discovered the problem they immediately withdrew the product from sale throughout North America. A new, correct, master has been created and perfect product will go on sale across North America next week. For those that have already bought the flawed disk, Codemasters has implemented the following replacement system.

On March 8th or 9th, we will have a new web site posted to the Internet at http:\\www.ofp-goldedition.com. Simply go there and fill out the form. The site will do an immediate security check of your code and send you a confirmation via email. At our end, it will create a mailing label we can attached to a package for immediate delivery.

If, for any reason, you cannot access the web site or do not want to provide your name and address to our web site, you can use the following "manual" system. Please note, this may delay replacement somewhat, as it requires a fair amount of special handling.

Email goldedition@codemastersusa.com with:

1) Your Name.

2) Mailing Address.

3) CD Key from the back page of your manual.

4) The hub code from the back side of your CD.

We will make a quick security check and immediately send out a replacement disk via standard mail. We are not set up to offer any other delivery option.

well well i got xp home and seemed to work fine un-till i play campain i got to a mission where my chopper is damaged and i have to steal a fuel truck...all is fine i re-fuel the chopper and go to next way-point when i get there the game speeds up the chopper freaks out then blows up im really disapointed i spent $40.00 canadian for it for a campain that don't work and my premo stadigy guide is wackey too double printed

un-bleaveible do you guys have quality control or what i just got ripped off im not one to complain but enough is enough will store give my money back for this i don't have my recipt i got the box and everything that came with it.......my blood is boiling

my specs: XP home amd 1.4 ghz 512 ddrram geforce 3 64meg vid card and i got all my drivers

Woot it works now! thanks to all for posting on this thread, kept me sane i almost jumped out the window after buying this game and then having it not work, lol, i was like "why me!"

But I went to http://www.ofp-goldedition.com/ now(around 4pm EST on Monday the 11th) and put in my info and got an e-mail saying i would receive my copy in the mail shortly so lets see how well our postal system is fairing, lol

I was just thinking, they say all North American verions are bugged, is this 100% true? because I have the Gold Edition and so far, everything works 100% correctly but when I get further in the game, will I run into a bug somewhere along where it might not let me play anymore?, i need your thoughts please, also do you think I should do that form just incase?.

AFAIK if you've been able to install it ok and patch to 1.46 ok then your CD looks like it will be ok

Anyone get their replaced copy in the mail yet? It's Friday now and they supposedly shipped mine on tuesday (if it's 'immediate' like they said... I sent in my info monday afternoon.) I have no idea how long it'll take to get here since I'm an east coaster... just wondering if they're keeping up to their end of the bargain

I got it. Filled the form on the website as soon as they fixed it (Monday if I remember correctly) and I got the CD today. And it works!

I got my replacement cd today. Took about a week,but i already owned the original game so it didnt matter.

I was wondering,is the replacement disk an updated version,or back to the first??? (i havent installed it since i already have the original patched and installed)...........M80

The replacement disk should install OFP 1.20, just as the orginal US version and the faulty Gold CD did. All they did was correct the CD's compile. The accompanying Gold Upgrade CD updates OFP to 1.30 and installs the Red Hammer campaign.
