Walsh.D 0 Posted April 19, 2009 Hi guys, Im having an Odd problem with Arma, which extends into all the mods as well. i run everything on high, smooth as silk and looks great, but everytime I use either the G gear for my gear screen or the M key for my map screen the game kinda "locks up" for a while, up to 20-45 seconds before it pops up to the gear or map screen, which then works fine, but again when I press G or M to go from the map screen back to normal game screen again it takes 20-45 seconds to complete. other than that the game runs wonderfully. I run everything at very high or high, and the view is aproxx 5500. computer pecs are below Asus M3N72-D motherboard - Phenom 9950quad - 2x 9800gts - 8 gigs coirsair Visata home basic 64 any ideas guys? IlluminatusOEM 10 Posted April 19, 2009 i think the problem is that your pc has to generate the whole world again when you switch back from map to game or from gear to the game. and that just needs some time with high graphics. try with lower graphic details. Walsh.D 0 Posted April 19, 2009 Hmmm Anyone agree with this? I would think with the hardware I have it should handle Arma fine. I run Farcry2 fully maxed with an average of 40fps.. I'll try it but would like to hear if anyone agrees.. surely theres someone with a comperable system that runs it on high settings that can give me some feedback? Thanks
Takko 10 Posted April 19, 2009 Your system should be more than capable in running the game on high to very high. Well, which version are you running?
[aps]gnat 28 Posted April 19, 2009 I very vaguely remember hearing something like this back with the very early versions of ArmA. And it was something to do with USB ..... I think Maybe try updating your USB drivers.
Walsh.D 0 Posted April 19, 2009 I am running version 1.5 The usb point sounds interesting I have a large amount of usb perfefirals running at one time Thanks, and please if anyone else remembers something similar please post and help me get this figured out :)
SWAT_BigBear 0 Posted April 19, 2009 I agree with Gnat, and I tend to remember some fixing issues just by re-plugging the usb devices, mostly just the keyboards and mouse.
Binkowski 26 Posted April 19, 2009 I'll have to agree with BigBear & Gnat. I usually re-plug my devices in and it should usually fix my issues.
Binary 0 Posted April 19, 2009 And if you're running version 1.5 - update ASAP to 1.15 (first to 1.08 then to 1.14 and then 1.15). You're missing out on a ton of fixes and performance upgrades by running 1.5 (assuming you didn't mean 1.15)
