STALKERGB 6 Posted January 20, 2010 Yup MTP, though the more I look at it the more it seems to share with DPM than Multicam. Still developed by Crye though, I thought it looked awful at first but I have to admit its starting to grow on me. :) Agreed, on seeing it the first time i thought it was horrible, but now, it doesnt look too bad. The choice to retain specific desert camo though sort of defies the point of having a multicam style pattern doesnt it though? Oh and is the camo part of PECOC? Or just something they realised they needed? Can't say I'm a fan of UCP-D although the picture posted with the guy on the left wearing it doesnt look as bad as i expected in theatre. I'm not too sure to be honest, I'm assuming that it is. Don't think the MoD would develop anything else if it wasn't part of PECOC. I'm still half expecting half the gear promised to be canceled in Labour's final effort to reduce spending. So watch this space.
Whiskey_Tango 10 Posted January 21, 2010 They aren't so much "Testing" as they are just using it. Most Army SOF is using it for Afghanistan. they were the first to test it....thats how full scale replacement testing started rangers reported back that they were coming within 10m of the enemy before engaging them :) whatever the rangers and sf get will eventually be adopted by the rest of the army...thats just the way it is..... multicam beat out all other camo patterns in the testing except for woodland and desert in which desert marpat won and chinese woodland won...army claims to want a universal camo but they are still dragging their damn feet because noone wants to take the blame for the acu abomination fuck being in country, blending into no background, patches falling off because the velcro shit the bed and your balls hanging out because the crotch ripped
Aeneas2020 10 Posted January 21, 2010 well hang on a sec just because they change the pattern doesn't mean they will change the uniform construction or lay out. Switching to multicam won't change any of those problems unless they fix the uniform construction itself.
scubaman3D 0 Posted January 21, 2010 Multicam is just a pattern. The uniform can be turned into a monkey suit and still be multicam pattern
Whiskey_Tango 10 Posted January 22, 2010 i know its a pattern but the material is different
