Yoma 0 Posted November 21, 2008 I have a couple of technical questions about Arma2 -will it use Gamespy again, with a different version of protocol or the same version as Arma? -will there be big changes in addonmanagement or will it remain about the same. (i mean stuff like directory based addon loading with subdirectories etc etc) -will the command line parameters for the exe's remain the same? The answers to these questions are fairly important for the new version of my AddonSync tool.
rundll.exe 12 Posted November 22, 2008 My guess is that there isnt really a reason for them to change it like it is. (unless gamespy bothers them) I think their system works pretty good and everyone knows by now how it works, no need to change it imo. But you never know for sure untill Suma or Maruk pops up
Commando84 0 Posted November 23, 2008 There is just one or two features the server browser really needs imo and that is to be able to safe and delete favourite servers from a tab like in steam. And to be able to be able to download addons from the host server via some system or another host that would be specified in a welcome user config or something like that. Also some nice looking bars instead of colored numbers to show connection speed. Maybe filter servers by a certain mission from the list if you type in warefare so it actually shows all warefare servers.
gonk 0 Posted November 23, 2008 Hi Yoma. It might be wiser just to PM suma directly. My guess he has seen your tool or knows or it. If he can help I am sure he will.. it just might not be set in concrete yet.
