Taurus 20 Posted November 5, 2008 This has been mentioned several times before but I couldn't find anything when searching. I recall being able to "default" the servername and password settings when creating a host, may it be on internet or LAN. Now I'm getting Taurus on Taurus And if I want to change that I need to do so each time I host a server. Also I recall something about a server.cfg file being hidden somewhere which i could edit, the arma profile-file doesn't cover these things. Neither could i find anything in the Arma installation path. Please refresh my memory. Thanks in advance!

Taurus 20 Posted November 5, 2008 Ok it seems I ones again failed to make my point. ArmA shortcut Starts ArmA I press "Multiplayer" "New" Then on the "Create Game" dialogue. Name: <I don't want to change this every time> Password: <I don't want to change this one either> I already tried with the -config parameter on my Arma.exe shortcut but to no avail. e.g. <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">-config="D:\games\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\ArmA.cfg" <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">-config="ArmA.cfg" And also without the quotation marks. ArmA.cfg <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">passwordAdmin = "xyz"; password = "xyz124"; hostname="I want to see this in local host games!"; maxPlayers = 10; motd[]= {"Welcome to Local host ArmA.","Bopp!"}; [edit] I also tried adding the lines to my <profile>.ArmAProfile That didn't work either. .kju 3245 Posted November 5, 2008 sorry  connect: create a link to your server with the params: ArmA:_Startup_Parameters#Network_Options host: Quote[/b] ]D:\Games\ArmA\arma.exe -server -cfg=basic.cfg -config=server.cfg -profiles=D:\Games\ArmA\Profiles\Users\server -name=server -mod=@@Server Do you have a basic.cfg? Taurus 20 Posted November 11, 2008 sorry  It wasn't my intention to seem angry. Quote[/b] ]D:\Games\ArmA\arma.exe -server -cfg=basic.cfg -config=server.cfg -profiles=D:\Games\ArmA\Profiles\Users\server -name=server -mod=@@Server the -server param would start a dedicated server, I don't want that. I want to do this: http://img133.imageshack.us/my.php?image=armalocalhotzgm8.jpg Last "round" when I played Arma I asked the same thing, I can't find the thread, and the answer was quite simple, but I can't remember
Tankbuster 1747 Posted November 25, 2008 You cannot specify those parameters for a local server as it's really a client acting as a server, not a server with a config.
