(what a friggin pain) thx deanosbeano added some more: objects, roads, trees, areas of interest, BH pyramid objects from Bierrolt Hidding's SG pack changed the satMap so its not so dark changed the satMask to have some sandy areas... since i can't seem to find a large caliber semi automatic silenced rifle with a zoomable scope... mikebart 1 Posted December 2, 2008 looks great, kind of refreshing actually , is that a turtle in between the lion and the leaf? hey im gonna make a shorter plant like the modifications you made to my one, but the lods on your edit are kind of screwed if you know what I mean, also was thinking about making a giant plant possibly up to 8000 to 10000 tris for your island, would be completly unrealistic but good for a laugh Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
loki 1 Posted December 2, 2008 @mikebart no turtle.. just a naked chick bent over backwards.. as for the hemp.. please please do... this project has gotten huge.. and it is way more than i can handle.. even at 12 hours a day. don't think 10000 is a lot.. there's over 300,000 palm trees on just the original island. i was going to use (with permission) the russian arch. pack from SMERSH.. but the work just to repath everything (190+ units) was more than i can bare. i can see by the responses that the 'realisim' community has no frigging imagination... guess you have to actually know combat before you're ready to sit under a virtual tree and burn one without 'feeling' guilty. still... i have been getting some help from others.. and i leave it open to those who have imagination and enjoy learning to have the courage to help on this. otherwise.. it looks like it'll be just you and i mike.. smoking a phat one on a sweet ass.. non realistic island... either way... when it is finished at least a couple of us will enjoy it. The-Architect 0 Posted December 23, 2008 The problem I encountered when I played on it the other day loki was that I could only go a few kilometers in any direction before finding a strange object. To be able to use the island for anything other than a joke, you'd have to create many kms with nothing but land and vegetation. I don't know if making the objects destroyable would fix it for potential mission makers. For example, if I set an object damage to 1 in a script like the init, you could have the object vanish to several metres under ground. Dunno how you would implement that. Namikaze 0 Posted December 23, 2008 Unless I've totally missed the mark here, I think the whole point of the island was to be a place for Loki to screw around and have fun. In fact, the first sentence sums this up pretty nicely: Loki: "sooo.. i got tired of waiting for a map that suited my needs..." So I think it does what it was designed to do already. I'd love to see it as a serious map but if he wants to keep the workload down and just keep it as it is then who am I to argue. He's got skills, either way, that's evident.
