Shadow LOD

Hmmm ... self-shadow is tricky.

What are the Named properties of the LODs ? I would check/play with those.

What LODs are you using for shadows now?

FYI to others.

Problem was using Photoshop and the PAA Plugin .... its not worth the trouble.

It produces PAA files that have problems.

Use TexView2 instead.

Sorry to bring this thread again, but its better to post here then create a new one.

Mikebart issue caught my attention comparing to my model.

I confirm that I have the codes in Geometry LOD:

  • name - value
    ------ " --------
    shadow - hybrid
    sbsource - explicit
    prefershadowvolume - 0
    but i also have more codes in my Geometry LOD
    class - treeHard
    canOcclude - 0
    dammage - tree
    map - tree

My palm tree model do not show any shadows on the ground if ArmA Shadow settings are at low/normal (though i can see shadow in the clutters), but on high and very high ArmA shadow settings the shadows appears correctly on the ground and on clutters.

I know there are some trees that display shadows on ground when we set ArmA shadow settings to low option.

I compared the codes, LODs and i have the same as some BIS original trees that show these shadows in Low shadow setting.

Any idea who to make the shadows model appear on the ground while using ArmA shadow settings on Low shadow setting?

ok then.

Can someone explain me why the Original BIS bridges have shadow but if the player gets under the respective shadow the body, seen in first person, will not be affected by the bridge shadow?

Yes the setting shadow was set in very high detail.

edit: Never mind, i found out why BIS Original bridges have bugs. Thanks anyway.

Though I would be very happy if my last question in the last post could be answered.

edit2: Never mind all my questions. I found how to make them work. Tanks.

Found out why BIS original BIS bridges have bugs and found out how to make the shadow trees to work in low details. :)
