RSV_Ecosse 0 Posted August 26, 2008 I can only find a brief mention in the manual of this "Concentration mode" to hold your breath when sniping in order for you to squeeze off a more accurate shot. How do you implement this, what key on the keyboard does it or is it something you do with the mouse?. Thanks.

Shadow NX 1 Posted August 28, 2008 Could have a bit more feedback, i often use it but am never really sure if it works. BIt more fitting breathing sound or a screen effect wouldnt be bad.
Second 0 Posted August 28, 2008 It was said (before release of ArmA) to be such that there few seconds delay after it works optimal and you can't hold it for too long as after that it's effect kinda wears out and even makes it harder to hit. It's to simulate certain metabolic things (like eye's ability to focus) when trying to shoot accurately... If i remember right. Infact i don't know does it have that big effect on accuracy after all... Over time i didn't use it anymore.
rundll.exe 12 Posted August 28, 2008 If you hold too long, your character will run out of breath and will start breathing heavyly, wich makes it even harder to aim
Second 0 Posted August 28, 2008 If you hold too long, your character will run out of breath and will start breathing heavyly, wich makes it even harder to aim Yes that how it's displayed in the game. Idea behind it is more complex, but that is being nitpicking. Idea is that player shouldn't (if idea is still the same) shoot before few seconds have passed, at that point of time players accuracy is at it's best. Kirby 2 Posted August 28, 2008 I only find it usefull if I'm taking a long ass shot after walking or accidently running for a split second. In general shooting, and even usualy sniping, its not that great.

IRL you know you are doing it right if the crosshairs are steady same can also be said for in game. No need for any other indication.

I would say that there is something which also increases weapon's dispression (=size of grouping) if not holding breath, and it's not related to weapon sway. I got this impression while playing the game, hard to tell am i right.
subs17 9 Posted August 30, 2008 The only way to tell should be the steadiness of the crosshairs sometimes that takes a few seconds if you've been running to get it steady if you wanted to take it to the next level then you would need a big screen with a rifle that has sensors. The best way to tell if you are doing it right would be one shot kills or head shots.
