Ir0n 3agl3 0 Posted March 2, 2002 I was playing the other day... and hit a small thing that kind of ticked me off.... The BlackHawk was really not needed... due to the fact I only had 4 guys... but the Kiowa only holds 2....We need a small helo transport.... like 6 person, including pilot..... no gunner.... and I think that you should be able to shoot out the side of the helicopters, not too accuratly.. but still.....I would love to take sniper shots out of a Kiowa or Loach ( small SPECOPS chopper).... and Unless you set a waypoint... it is impossible to get your AI pilot to just let you off... there needs to be a disembark-type option in the menu... Ir0n 3agl3 0 Posted March 2, 2002 true... the Russians do need some more helicopters..... but I have never seen them really use anything else..... maybe give them some different versions... and we definatly need AA missles.....or at least we should be able to track aircraft.... then use the guns..... Lansen 0 Posted March 2, 2002 Ir0n 3agl3 - I think you got a very good thought there. The option of telling the pilot to let you off is smart. In reality you can actually talk with your mouth so I think that there should be some kind of possibility to communicate inside the helicopter. I dont know if its possible to enable shooting from the helicopter with your own gun as a passenger but it would definitly be a very high upgrade to OFP if we could. The "Loach" your talking about is the OH-6 and MH-6. They was made for the us during Vietnam war because they needed a small, fast and versatile helicopter. It was uused to "troll" for fire from ground units (charlie) and as a light airsupport helicopter. Today it´s used to insert special operation soldiers and also as a light airsupport/attack helicopter. The civilian version is the MD-500. The US gave stingers to the Afgans to fight off the Russians. It would make sense as well becuase Hueys were being replaced in the 80s.
