*le sigh*

This is probably going to be a common theme... but my addon has not been released yet, and I haven't used someone else's FSX cockpit texture for my cockpit texture, so there will be no FSX icons smile_o.gif

The addon you are referring too is someone elses, and my turn radius has been fine in Alpha. I suspect the addon's turn radius you are referring too has been left at default settings in the config.

I can confirm, however, that all my gauges work in Armed Assault smile_o.gif

I've decided to release the beta as it is, without making any more modifications as I would like to get feedback prior to finishing the model off.

The following has been completed:

* All gauges in the cockpit work as intended.

* Weapons bay works as intended.

* Scale has been fixed (hopefully).

* Flight Handling has been fixed.

Download is available at:

http://www.dhd.co.nz/files/usec_f117_beta1.0.rar

(Mirrors are allowed and much appreciated, I will delete this link once it has been mirrored).

Known Issues

Please note the following issues:

* TODO: Only one LOD is included (~5000 tri's)

* TODO: Geometry LOD is very basic

* TODO: Geomtery LOD is used fo Fire Geometry

* BUG: Weapons Bay Door Indicators don't work

* TODO: Cockpit needs more texturing

* TODO: FLIR/Laser Designator needs enabling

* TODO: Further work on stealth scripting needs doing

* TODO: Warning sounds and indicator lights

* BUG: Canopy "rainbow" effect too pronounced

* TODO: Materials not loaded for all textures

* BUG: Dampening of wheels does not work correctly

* TODO: Individual hitpoint objects need to be created

hi icemotoboy,

though your f-117 looks really nice from the outside in the armory, i got a ctd when i tried to fly the bird. the same happened when trying to use the f-117 in the editor.

error message: Cannot create system memory surface 1555, 1026x512 (size 1313280 B) Error Code 8876086c

i suppose something with the cockpit is wrong because you can watch the plane flying in the armory, and it crashes the game when it tries to load the cockpit.

looking forward to properly fly this great looking plane.

That will be a power of 2 texture bug error, dammit. Thanks for the heads up, will try get that fixed ASAP. Was sure I'd gotten all those textures sorted out... Must have missed one.

Thanks Foxhound, I've updated the page here. I'll do a new version later in the weekend, still beta, and clean up as many of the new bugs that are sure to pop up as I can.

@icemotoboy

I really want to say well done!  That is possibly the best F-117 mesh I’ve seen in ArmA or OFP.  The textures are nice, although I confess I would just prefer a USAF skin as opposed to your USEC one.

There are a few comments if I may:

- Landing and stall speed is way too low .It should be ~280-300 kph.  F-117 has a reputation for being horrible at low speed and has very relatively high landing speeds.  Similar to that of an A-7 Corsair II.  The Corsair was used as a lead in Trainer for the F-117 in the 80's so the stats are comparable apparently.

- The F-117 doesn’t have an airbrake.  The panel you have setup as the airbrake is actually the brake parachute doors.  It should be split along the centre line and hinges from the sides up and out.

- Rudder/fin axis is set wrong.  You have them pivot around the X-axis of the plane.  They should pivot up the center line of the fin.  It looks really odd to see them pivot forward and back.

- Sharp edges…  I don’t know if this is just the textures but some parts of the model appear to be rounded.  Specifically the Radar augmenters they should appear sharper than they currently do.

- RVMAT.  Again personally choice but I would suggest you tone down the specularity on the main body textures,  it seems a bit too shiny in day light.

Good Lord, that plane is AWESOME!

What can we see when we compare 0.4 versus 1.0 is the biggest improvement I ever saw between 2 versions of same addon...

I think you are getting confused with SerapH]X[Lt F-117. This is a totally different model fomr a totally different author!

Indeed and I take it the crash is ATI specific...

I really thought it was a "generic" crash:

And I thought icemotoboy already fixed it when I read people's comment on how it flies etc...

Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the heads up about ATI...

No worries icemotoboy, take your time

Well it is generic on ATI cards :P

Its caused by a miss sized texture. Nvidia are more tolerant of custom sizes on textures. With ATI you need to be more careful.

As shown in the error - "1026x512".  You just need to resize panel_1.paa and you wont get any more errors.

While I do not know if this information would be all too helpful to you in correcting the plane's scale, the height of a soldier in ArmA is, to the best of my knowledge, roughly 1.8 meters.

Keep up the excellent work!
