How to set up a server??

Recommended Posts

Are there any instructions out there how to set up a server? I didn't find the BI Wiki one to be much help.

Also, I am looking to run Evolution 3.0, does anyone have a server config they can send me and also where do I put that config? I know this probably seems pretty basic to most, but I have no idea, I much prefer GUI where you don't have to use code.

Thanks in advance!!

I'm not sure why you've created this thread when you already have an existing one that directly relates to all this icon_rolleyes.gif

1. Dedicated Server. Use Search. I did.

configs:

The wiki WILL help you get up and running:

2. Why would you want to run yet another Evolution server when 50% of all the ArmA servers are already running it and very few are populated?

My clan runs BF2142, Crysis, and COD4 servers; its always nice to be able to enforce the rules and act upon unruly players. Playing on others servers you can't do that.

Thanks for the post.

Also when I try to add the the needed line to the "start in" it says it is invalid, any idea?

I'm just looking to set up a server on an extra box I have here at home so as not to tie up resources on our rented box.

I had a server up and running when I could use the GUI and it was quite easy to do, but playing with all the server config files . . . well sucks.

If you haven't used them before it isn't the easiest thing to do. And really there isn't ANY clear documentation I can find. There really needs to be stuff that says: Step 1 ..., Step 2 ..., Step 3 ..., and so forth, but there isn't and it is a little frustrating.
