can anyone tell me in the easiest way possable how get addons such as the f-18 and such... and can you use these on your editor maps brand new to this stuff so... addons for dummies...thank you

the best way to stay updated on addons without searching these forums is go to community sites who present the addons and provide host for them.

This for example is one of the latest addons released.

In the download page, if u scroll down, you will find to download links (same file but different servers). Click on any of them and you will start to download the file.

Read the page info, especially the Installation one. And be sure to check the FAQ about how to install addons (the link is on that section). Anyways here is the link to that FAQ:

Then it's good to learn how to organize your addons and how to load only the addons you need into ArmA.

You should ideally load only those addons which are used by the missions you will play.

That can be achieved well-enough by arranging your addons into separate folders and using Kegetys' ArmA Launcher to start ArmA: then you can choose which addon folders you want to load for the particular playing session.

Also don't forget to install the 1.12b (b = beta) patch!

If you wouldn't like the beta for some reason, you will still be able to play the latest full patch (1.08 that is) because the beta installs itself into a separate folder
