Fatbob 0 Posted April 7, 2008 Recently i bought ArmA, and I thought it would run like every other game on my PC. Â I've got a Dell Precision 360 with a 2.8GhZ P4, 2.5gb of RAM, and an old GeForce FX5700 128mb. Â I can run BF2 and Far Cry on pretty good settings @ 30fps. Â Unfortunatly, ArmA will not run over 10fps with everything on very very low. Â Is this because of my video card? Â If so, could someone reccomend an AGP 4x/8x card that will run this game on medium-high? Heres my ArmA Mark Scores: @800x600, very low, visibility 500 1-11.3158 2-6.09756 3-7.53985 4-4.54494 5-9.10844 Overall Score-772.

BraTTy 0 Posted April 8, 2008 You can run BF2 at good settings? I find that hard to believe. We have a AGP pc w/ 7600gs 512mb and need to keep the settings low for fluid play w/BF2 I have said in the past that Arma is actually a lil smoother and can handle better than low settings. Hard to recommend a decent video card for aging AGP system. The 7600gs was the last AGP card I will buy (I actually had a x1950gt before that but it died within 2 weeks) I think x1950 is about the fastest you can go for AGP I paid 130$ and I choose the GT as it will run with minimal powersupply whereas the x1950pro needs greater power supply but the pro is quite a bit faster Is Ati hd 3850 AGP out? that maybe a good buy not sure of its performance I paid about 70$ for the 7600gs 512mb AGP and its ok.Still wont run Arma at mid settings like you are asking I am surprised your 5700 runs Arma at all. For 330$ shipped I just bought my wife a : AMD 4600+ X2 cpu,pci-e MB,Case,2 gigs Ram and a 8600gts and she is happy This topic will get moved to offtopic edit: I pm'd links

Newegg has a 7600 GT 512 MB AGP for about $100... although I will not speculate on what kind of results you'll get. My old cpu (AMD 3800, 2 GB DDR 400, 7600 GT 256 MB) had a PCIe 7600 and ran fine on normal settings. I know it sucks to have to upgrade your whole system. Whatever you choose to do though, good luck. max power 21 Posted April 9, 2008 Any card with less than 512 megs of video ram should not even be considered to play ArmA.
