smellyjelly 0 Posted April 7, 2008 Ever since I downloaded beta patch 1.12 the shadows in Bulldozer have been glitched. (Ignore the missing faces in the back) I can't say for sure whether the beta patch caused this, though it's just started happening and I've made no other changes. Even my old models do this. Can anyone help me fix it or confirm it's the patches fault?
Jackal326 1182 Posted April 7, 2008 I can't help you fix it, but I doubt its the beta patches fault, unless you've alterred your O2 settings to use the beta.exe instead of the regular ArmA.exe. The BETA patch, to my knowledge, doesn't alter any core files, just adds updated versions within the 'beta' folder in your ArmA directory. As such, I doubt its the cause unless you've alterred O2 and told it to use the BETA.exe.
smellyjelly 0 Posted April 8, 2008 Nah, I didn't change any of the O2 settings. I did have a thought though. Last week I updated my videocard drivers to Nvidia 174.74 Beta. I can't remember if I've messed with Bulldozer since then and it worked. Has anybody else tried this driver yet?
rstratton 0 Posted April 10, 2008 i donno but if o2 had proper mesh smoothing id use the hell out of it and make alot of car addons
smellyjelly 0 Posted April 14, 2008 Well, I'm still having this problem and it's preventing me from continuing my work.
Von Rundstedt 0 Posted April 15, 2008 Well if you want I can check it on my O2/Buldozer and see if I can figure out fix to it or if it even occurs on my buldozer?
smellyjelly 0 Posted April 15, 2008 Sure go ahead. Are you using 1.12 or the Nvidia beta drivers? By the way, I've switched to different drivers and tried taking the 1.12 data folder out of Arma, but the problem still presists.
Von Rundstedt 0 Posted April 15, 2008 Nope I run 1.09 with buldozer and ATI's drivers, but this is great chance to check wether its in model or in your drivers.
smellyjelly 0 Posted April 15, 2008 Oh, I get it. You want me to send you my model? Sorry, I scimmed over your first post early in the morning so I wasn't exactly thinking straight. Anyways, the glitch is also happening with my other models, so I know it's a problem with my computer. Thanks for offering though.
Von Rundstedt 0 Posted April 16, 2008 Ah okay, then that makes my offer completely pointless
smellyjelly 0 Posted April 17, 2008 Ok, I have an update: It turns out only my newest models are having this problem. I went back through all my saves, (I tend to only overwrite my current P3D a few times, then I make a new save and continue with it), and the latest one that seems to be working is from 2/26/2008. However, I'm 100% sure that the problem is not old or just went unnoticed until now. Something had to have changed recently to cause this. Additionally, if I resave the old, working model as a new P3D then it still works, and if I copy/paste my new model in it both will work. However, once I delete the old model, the glitch reappears. Just to be clear, let me emphasize that this all is when I take a working model, and save it as a new P3D. This is a very strange problem, but at least I made a little progress. smellyjelly 0 Posted April 26, 2008 Sorry to double post, but I wanted to bump this because I still haven't solved my problem. I also wanted to ask if reinstalling O2 might help.
