bravo 6 0 Posted April 2, 2008 Im working on a map ( Al Amiriya ), the import texture went good, ie, with no errors. i started placing roads (original from Sara) and in certain point i got this error.. enlarge Can anyone help or know what i need to do now? edit: note: before placing roads i tested ingame and all was ok. Now im quite sure it will crash, due to that error.
dmarkwick 261 Posted April 2, 2008 You can do one of two things: 1. You can ignore it, when you play the map in ArmA you will see the texture & get no errors. 2. You can de-PBO the roads.pbo file in ArmA and transfer the roads\data folder over that contains all the .paa files. Do NOT transfer the road p3d files, you need to use the special Visitor 3 ones for building.

But when exported the world and give alittle try in arma i get this.. enlarge and the think i did de-pbo the roads.pbo from sara brefore, thats why i don't understand the error.. Quote[/b] ]you need to use the special Visitor 3 ones for building. Can you explain better? I don't know what you mean and i would like to know more EDIT: im not sure if the BI Environment sample models (Mirror1 Mirror2) is the latest to use in this case.. is it? dmarkwick 261 Posted April 2, 2008 The only other thing I can suggest is to NOT use the cesta road type in that case. Quote[/b] ]you need to use the special Visitor 3 ones for building. The various road P3Ds in ArmA are not suitable for building roads in Visitor 3. You can use the PAA files from there, but you must use the road P3Ds from Visitor 3, or the BIS Environment Sample ones you mentioned. I think they must be proxy models with more functionality than the game ones.
bravo 6 0 Posted April 2, 2008 The main idea is to use the P3D's from the ca\roads and use the paa renaming then in order to use them? sorry my ignorance
dmarkwick 261 Posted April 2, 2008 No, don't rename anything. If you haven't got cesta.paa anywhere on your system, don't use that road. There's other roads that are pretty similar.

I extracted with cpbo the roads.pbo that are in "D:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\AddOns". Is there a way to locate where is that specific road in the map? i already played alot roads
ArmaVidz 0 Posted April 2, 2008 If the model isn't binarized you can open it in o2 and use the mass texture renaming tool to alter the location to the texture can't you? If it works might be less work than other options. I couldn't find a cesta.paa texture anywhere in my installation, just a cesta_fk.paa or something like that under the roads pbo. bravo 6 0 Posted April 2, 2008 the funny part is that i don't have any cesta file.. i used ces_d6konec and all other similar to ces_d* in the map and i keep getting that error Edit: i have this file "cesta_kr.paa" its the most closer that i got. you can look the files i have in P:\ca\roads\data enlarge
Nicholas Bell 0 Posted April 3, 2008 Please check out this early thread: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....84;st=0 Here is a working link to my complete roads folder: http://www.sendspace.com/file/2e62ao Use this and the list on the other thread to create your road types and you shouldn't have any problems - all the paa files and proper p3d files are included. Uncompress the winrar file and copy the folder into your CA folder - overwriting everything. There is an lot of information in the forum if you use the search function - plug in "roads" and be sure to set the "Search From" to "The Beginning". No disrespect intended - I try to be as helpful as I can in this forum, but most of these problems have been covered and you can get your answers quicker using search - or at least be able to fine tune the questions. bravo 6 0 Posted April 3, 2008 Nicholas Bell, thank you for your attention and thanks to all that participated and helped. I already tried the link (roads.rar) Nicholas provided... and still get the same error. I started to suspect the error source was due to "ces_d6konec" or "asfaltka6konec". So i removed both in all map... which fixed the error instantly. To detect which one was creating the error i did these fast steps:<ul> 1- Only removed "ces_d6konec" from all map and the message continued to appear. 2- Removed all "asfaltka6konec" in map and it fixed the problem error. 3- Added back the "ces_d6konec" to map and message did Not appear In a fast experiment/test i can conclude that the problem is in the "asfaltka6konec". Now my question is why?! Can anyone explain me this please? PS- Im using BIS original/sample files.

You're right Nicholas, thank you. There's only three pages to the Visitor forum...should have checked those(myself personally). Thanks for uploading your roads folder as well, will download today.
