Knowsknone 0 Posted March 21, 2008 Alright, well to start, I send my deepest apologies if I have this in the wrong place, but, it seemed this would be a viable option. Also, I have searched on google, these forums and Armaholics forums and did not find anything related to this, maybe a post asking "why am I a bird?" but Ive yet to see an answer/remedy to this. So here I go; Alright, ever since I patched to 1.08, I always seem to randomly change into a bird with the quote "Good birds do not fly away from this game, I blame myself." its happened at random, 2 minutes into a mission and sometimes 15, or not at all. I have experienced this on a fresh install, and in mods, and I have no idea how to not changed into one, its quite frusterating to be in the middle of combat and all the sudden your a bird, then have to revert to a previous save or start the whole mission over... So any and all help is much appreciated, and if I have wrongly placed this topic move it where it should be, and again my apologies. Thanks!

max power 21 Posted March 21, 2008 If you believe you have a legitimate copy of ArmA, either Suma or Maruk have extended their invitation for people in such a situation to contact them privately in the past. If not, I recommend you buy the game if you like it. In North America, it's now available on Steam!

Maddmatt 1 Posted March 21, 2008 Well if you do have a legal version, make sure you're not using a no-DVD crack. If you really don't want to use the disk, download the 1.11 beta patch. It removes the need for one, legally. If you haven't bought the game, well, it's real cheap in most places now. No excuse not to buy it if you like it. You can buy it online through Steam or Sprocket if you can't find a copy in a store.
W0lle 1052 Posted March 21, 2008 Closing. As already said, this happens only with illegal copies or No-CD "patches". Get yourself a legit copy or stop using inofficial patches and you're fine. BTW: This question has been asked - and answered several times here.
