Major Blood 0 Posted February 27, 2008 Hello all Quick question: I have a model with all the BIS textures applied. I am currently reskinning the model with custom textures. How do I keep the wrinkles and folds in the clothing after retexturing? (Do you know what I mean?) Please help
Panda-PL- 0 Posted February 27, 2008 How do I keep the wrinkles and folds in the clothing after retexturing? Don't change the material files assigned to faces, change only texture. The material settings (including normal etc. map paths) are in .rvmat files, rvmat files (material) are assgned to model faces in O2.
Major Blood 0 Posted February 27, 2008 Panda Roger that. Your the man. That is what I thought. I'm still a noob ass, so thanks for being patient. So I will need to manually add the details (shading) to the textures that I am making to really make these "wrinkles" them pop out? Back to work for me MajorBlood
Sergei_Q 0 Posted February 27, 2008 So I will need to manually add the details (shading) to the textures that I am making to really make these "wrinkles" them pop out? The wrinkles in clothing derive from the normal maps. If all you're doing is modify the color (aka. diffuse) map, then just leave the normal maps as they were. Don't add shading details to color maps, that wouldn't react to lighting.
Major Blood 0 Posted February 27, 2008 Sergei Thank you for that explanation. That is exactly what I was wondering about. I do appreciate that. MajorBlood
