The Night: It is dark...or rather jet black

Recommended Posts

Workaround found.

I had to set the gamma correction to 1.7, what is way to bright at daytime or when i open the map.

But, wonders still happen, the NVG`s are now usable even after they reacted to bright light.

So, to set the gamma correction to an extreme high value can help for night mission, but must be reseted for missions in daylight.

The question is, should i really be happy with this workaround?

But, at least it`s working now. icon_rolleyes.gif

NVG problem is not an general bug now is it? At least in the 14Months I've played ArmA I only saw it once or twice happening and that was after a borked installation.

For ingame colour settings I actually have my Brightness at MAX (1.5) and my Gamma just above MIN around (0.6-0.7) really gets great shadows

As far as I can tell its a quite complicated matter.

It depends on your

* ingame brightness and game settings

* your monitor settings

* ArmA's HDR setting (ArmAProfile)

* your GPU

* your GPU's driver

and most likely on more factors.

All in all ArmA's lighting simulation doesn't work in many cases

unfortunately.

Try to fiddle with these things listed above.

The drivers for my GPU can´t be upgraded, the Forceware 94.24 are the last that support Win2K.

The driver is properly calibrated to the LCD TV, no problems at all besides the HDR related problems in ArmA.

I think the way the HDR is implemented is the source of all lightning problems in ArmA.

I`m happy as a little girl, that i got it working somehow.

The only downside is, that i have to change the gamma settings for day missions and for night missions.
