New campaign: Backlash

Recommended Posts

Well i'm gonna create a new campaign named Backlash. Mostly I want your opinions on it and any suggestions.

Firstly i'll give a brief story (dont want to ruin the story before its even released tounge2.gif )

Militia groups on Porto have tried to take over the goverment but since the island is so small they have no army to protect it. So the Porto goverment requests help from the US, the US being the nice people they are accept and send 200 or so infantry soldiers onto the island to help. The militia however cant compete with the highly trained soldiers and therefore just give up meaning no action is seeen.

A week before they are scheduled to leave weird things start to happen wit their radar system, what could it be?

Thats only a quick and brief story of the first two missions, not gone any further into the campaign for obdvious reasons.

Next I want input on addon choices. So far I have this small list...

- Lowfly Editor update

- MAP misc

- RKSL camo nets

I'm trying to keep the list small but am open to suggestions that you would really like to see.

Some more info on the campaigns features...

- 15+ missions

- Cheating is not allowed (-endmission will not end the mission anymore)

- Fully voice acted

- Detailed briefings

- Intros and Outros on nearly every mission including several cutscenes

- Missions rely more on squad leading, if you lose to many men you fail

- Advanced AI using grouplink and supression scripts when seen fit

- Custom onplayerkilled script

- And more...

Also voice actors are required, these are the parts... (Lines will come mission by mission)

- Player - Brian Sheplan (A lot of lines, varying from mission. Accent not a problem but American would be preferable)

- HQ - Papabear (Also a lot of lines depending on mission and American accent also prefered)

- Squad leader 1 (used in various missions, fewer lines could range from 5 per mission but voice not used in all missions)

- Squad leader 2 (same as above)

- Squad leader 3 (same as above)

- Firefly base (Pretty much same as above)

- Pilot (Same as above)

If you are willing to help please PM or post in this thread with which role you would like to take.

Anyway thats enough from me, lets hear what you think of the campaign so far with suggestions to story, addons and if you can voice act. Cheers.

Porto is kinda small to have a government, send 200 US soldiers in and make 15 missions with dont you think? You could stick with south sahrani.

Militant groups unofficially backed up by the north sahrani regime try to overthrow the south sahrani government.

US/NATO is sent in to counter the militia activities and stabilise the situation in the country.

Step #1 is to take the airport, establish base there and quickly secure the capital city of Paraiso.

Step #2 is to secure the whole of south Sahrani and capture the militant leader (who might escape to a small, unknown island).

US/NATO forces partially manage to stabilise the situation in the south while the militant forces withdraw and regroup to the north.

Militia forces keep infiltrating the south sahrani territory at night disguised in civilian clothing, they now start targeting US security forces in the main cities of Corazol, Ortego, Dolores and Cayo, in other words.. insurgency.

As the tention betwean North Sahrani government and the US forces grows further a full scale war seems inevitable.

US SF start performing small incursions in NS territory to locate militia camps, gather inteligence, etc. In the process they become aware of a small northern group of fighters who opose the northern regime...

Uh, sorry man, i got carried away crazy_o.gif .

Suggestion: Build the story around the events of the BIS campaigns, in one way or another.

And instead of just throwing in the US Army maybe you could use the RACS instead? I don't think the US would want to get back to Sahrani after what happened in the Armed Assault campaign biggrin_o.gif

@Heatseeker

The entire campaign isnt set on Porto, probably should have mentioned that biggrin_o.gif

After the first few misions the campaign and story stretch over to Sahrani.

But thanks for the suggestions will consider them.

@Ti0ne3r

Well I'm still playing the BIS campaign so am not too sure on the story yet.

There can be only one militia group on this little island Porto... maybe "united" with others from Rahmadi and little isle around Sahrani?

US installed very quick radar systems and then they're leaving?

Suggestion: first write down the whole plot of story - don't do it "in scripting/editing process". Make sure that you have a good structure. Think of addons that are required to play campaign - others maybe optional... make a little timetable only for yourself.

New ideas may appear during development but stick to your plan. Write down... maybe you can use them later.

They unite with other forces a little bit into the campaign.

Well I have no real idea about how long it would take to set up radar systems or anything so I'm just guessing that it doesnt take too long tounge2.gif. Plus they originaly though there stay would have been longer then it was.

@walkerj1 and mant3z

Shall get back to you sometime tomorow. Thanks

If you need pseudo American voice acting, your number one choice is me. I'm around 20 but still got a little teenage squeak in my voice, so the main role is out of the question. Maybe an eager and young pilot is a good role. My mic is OK quality.

Sample from Sahrani Radio ad
