AI using laser designator

As the description says, how do you get the AI recon troops to designate enemy targets using the laser designator?

Dunno but I have seen one mission where one was using it i dunno how but it was the enemy oddly enough they were pointing it all over the place

just a guess.

Equip one of them with Laser , tell him to "target" , then tell him to "fire" ?

If you can't get them to engage with the laser marker, try downloading TrueRangeAi and try again. Most often it's the distance that kills it. The Ai is too close to lase and pulls his M4, or he's too far and can't see it. Haven't tried, but TrueRangeAi might help that along.

Remove all his other ammo or better yet even weapons, just leave laserdesignator and he wildly shoots the target with laser beam. I witnessed this at least with T72 targeting, dunno if they would use laserdesignator against infantry, try it out.

i've done it before but they will only use it on armored targets. just move them to where they can see the armor and they should laze it

yep, just place a guy with a laser, and he will equipt it and aim on it until destroyed. Just make sure he isnt't visible to the tank easily.
