Visata with folders

I have just installed OFP on my new computer which uses vista. I was surprise to see that the game works like it did on XP. My problem is that I cannot make my own mission because they do not save to a folder. Also I can not put scripts in my mission because there is no mission folder. Weird thing is I can load my mission in the editor even though there is no mission in the User/Myname/missions folder. Any help please?

Where did you save the mission? Default isn't user missions. Check Main directory under 'missions'.

Another thing to try, say your mission is called "Mission1.pbo" or something, go to start > and in the search bar on the bottom just type the name of your mission that you saved it as.

Well It should be default because when I save the mission from the editor it should go right to User/missions. I already tried searching it and nothing shows up. Its getting on my nerves because i can still load my mission but I cant add any scripts because i don't have my mission folder.

You can find your mission at the following location.

Enter the above in the address bar of windows explorer; remember to put your windows logon name inplace of "<your windows logon name here>" From there you should beable to find your file relative to the path OFP is install. for instance, if it's install under program files you'll find your file by browsing to the program files under this path. Anyway that is where it would be if you don't run the program as administrator, so it has the authority to write to the system directory "program files" or otherwise.

Either that or just dont save any games what so ever in "program files". Alot of "non-vista compatable games" work on vista if you just change where they install to a new folder on the C drive called progs or soemthing.

Yeah on my vista I had the same problem.

You can go to your ofp directory and look just under the adress bar or search you should see "compatible files".

Click on it and it takes you to your user folder and that should have all your missions.

Vista can be a pain, for games that are not designed to work on that OS. Remember how old OFP is right now.

We can be happy that OFP works at all on Vista, and that ArmA works that good with it.

Being a long time xp user the switch to vista was awkard because everything was complicated and a bunch of needless stuff. I was surprised ofp works with vista

I remember I had the same problem with this folder but i turned off all that new security stuff from microsoft and it stoped makeing thses folders. But it is recomended that you make a full new setup of windows vista rather than installing it as an upgrade over windows xp as it makes some strange problems like the compatible files folder etc... other wise vista in my view is much better than xp =)
