Sevan 0 Posted August 28, 2007 There are two places that AI skill can be set. In the editor and in the game options. Is there a difference between the two? or are these seperate skill levels.
Prydain 1 Posted August 29, 2007 Seperate I think, although the AI don't seem to change being slow shooting aimbots no matter how much skill you give them.
Beagle 684 Posted August 29, 2007 The most interesting number to play with is "enemyaccuracy" in your profile config. I left friendly at default 0.85 and set enemy to 0.50. It makes a noticable difference...if you go prone 70m away and start evasive rolls to the sides the A.I. will empty 1-3 magazines before the finally get you. Sevan 0 Posted August 29, 2007 I'm not really interested in ways of tweaking the AI skill levels. I just want to understand what the skill level in the editor and the one in game options means.
Beagle 684 Posted August 29, 2007 It means detection and engament range, and reaction time. Precision is always the same as Skill. This can only be separately changed by config editing. The effect of setting the skill higher than precision make firefights more intense and solves the assault rifle "sniper robot" problem without making A.I. blind, deaf and retarded. But for a better experience you might try this: Quote[/b] ]skillFriendly=0.850000; skillEnemy=0.750000; precisionFriendly=0.800000; precisionEnemy=0.550000; It's a hidden but easy and very usefull option. Sevan 0 Posted August 29, 2007 How would this change work in multiplayer? Would all the people on my host server use these settings? ...I would think so, right? edit: nvm, it's attached to the profile. So I assume, yes.
Beagle 684 Posted August 29, 2007 The servers config usually sets the standart all players have to use.
The-Architect 0 Posted April 14, 2008 I know this is an old thread but I've looked in the profile config and I can't find any setting for skill or dispersion.
Col. Faulkner 0 Posted April 15, 2008 I know this is an old thread but I've looked in the profile config and I can't find any setting for skill or dispersion. Dunno about "skill" but "dispersion" is a weapon attribute. It is in the config for the gun you are using.
