Connecting failed

hello all my question is simple (i hope)

when i want to play mp and i join any server i get

"Connecting Failed"

not connection but "ing".

any idea on how to fix this?

Nope, just pure ofp vanilla. any other suggestions?

(got alot of addons though... though they are in a modfolder, most of em anyways )

I'd guess firewall too. Maybe you have it on high and need to set it on normal for the networking on some games to work properly.

Norton internet security... but if my memory serves me correctly ofp is set to allowed.

americas army works normal. no problems there.

Yes, it is allowed because you see the servers but the "high" security level effects allowed programs, others it blocks completely.

OFP uses UDP, America's Army might use TCP. That could explain why it works.

got it to work i simply removed ofp from the allowed list then tried again. now it worked thnx for help

Did you try to join a server with disabled "Norton Internet Security" ?

Norton Internet Security is "tot und teufel" anyway

Best would be to get hands on a different firewall.

That's actually the problem. Nortan can really be a bit**.

Had do set up my system new, to get rid of Norton. It's so deep in the registry, that it's as good as impossible to install a new firewall.

ok its been a while but i now have Zonealarm installed and norton uninstalled but im still getting the error.

anyone know a fix? i guess not or else it wouldve been posted here long ago weird... i seem to be the only one with this problem... Could windows Vista be a problem?

I had the same error it was norton for me the firewall was stopping me connecting for some reason. I now use nod 32 with no problems hope it helps.
