Flat!!! 0 Posted August 8, 2007 I think we will stick to the old BDU is that does not make you angry... There are many reference, pictures etc so we will have a easier job making them. We might also make some olive drab etc later but thank you all for the replies...
manberries 0 Posted August 8, 2007 rgr no problem here but im just going to tell you about how things ended in needers seals people said that it wasnt enough that they were just reskins called seals this is just fare warning of some of the things that might be said in this thread and something to consider and you build these models possibly small things like making sure the patches say navy and stuff or whatever you can think of something to really make them seals
Flat!!! 0 Posted August 8, 2007 Even if the woodlands where to be a disappointment we will have night, desert and olive camo apart from that. So I hope everybody will find something that they like. So I hope everybody gets something out of this, And on a side note can a mod maybe move this to discussions instead?, Would really appreciate that.

BDU WD, 3Col, OD, TAN, ACU, PCU.. doesnt really matter what you make them to be honest. i havent seen seals in PCU clothing around here tho so this might be a shot worth
Marinecqc 0 Posted August 18, 2007 Hey, you guys should really play Socom US Navy SEALs if you want to know about them and what they wear/use. Very realistic game and a very fun game. I'd recommend it to anyone who is making Navy SEALs.
Wiciu 0 Posted August 18, 2007 HI, nice idea Can you also make 80's style SEALs in 6 colour desert? like this

USMC NEEDER 0 Posted August 18, 2007 Desert Pack First!!!.... like devil said! When will you release them? (stupid question)
bugkill 7 Posted August 18, 2007 Just make them in the most common. I've seen pictures of NSW in ACU, Woodland, DCU 3 color, and solid nomex jumpsuits. That would make me happy. Make them all! Quoted for truth. This is what they typically would be seen wearing on missions today. You'd also see them wearing peshmerga hats, guttra, shamaghs, and various other garments to help them blend in/form alliances with, whoever the local population are. Oh, and one must never forget dark sunglasses, ball caps, and BIG, chunky, dive watches. Â Â Dive gear would be black, OD, and desert tan wet suits, or dry suits, with rebreathers. Once they hit the beach, they strip out of their dive gear. During airborne HALO/HAHO jumps, teams will wear OD, and desert tan flight suits. Extra equipment, such as weapons and dive gear, is secured with paracord. Â Â Back in the sixties and seventies, they would usually wear tiger-stripe, OD fatigues, and sometimes even bits and pieces of kit worn by allied nations. I've read many accounts of SEALs in 'Nam wearing blue jeans, "VC pajamas", and even open-toed sandals on operations. Back when I was in the Navy, I would often see them walking about the ship wearing OD Nomex flight suits, "chocolate-chip" desert pattern, and khakis shorts/trousers with blue and yellow hooded sweat shirts and tees. This would be considered their garrison outfit. I received quite a few briefings and training evolutions from SEALs dressed this way. Basically, they wore/wear whatever is most functional/comfortable for the mission at hand. Besides, you've got be a VERY BIG man to tell an 800lb. gorilla what he can or can't wear when he's cutting throats, kicking in doors, and taking fire in some forgotten Third-World Hellhole. during HALO ops, it does not matter what they wear. they can wear any uniform that they see fit (bdu, acu, dcu, etc.). also, people do not realize that there are regulations that even spec ops soldiers have to still follow and they do not have as much free reign, in respect to uniforms, as you may think. only the "tier one units" have that kind of free reign to dress up like checen rebels and stuff like that, and i'm quoting from experience
USMC NEEDER 0 Posted August 19, 2007 Pictures would be nice, id love to see what these look like as i cannot wait till they are released... (Hopefully before school) . Thanks in advance.

HoboWithAK 0 Posted August 20, 2007 Just make them in the most common. I've seen pictures of NSW in ACU, Woodland, DCU 3 color, and solid nomex jumpsuits. That would make me happy. Make them all! Hey, That picture of the "navy seal" that died in rahmadi is fake. The picture of them with acu is a bunch of bogus. i asked my uncle "do you wear acu?" and he said "nah, we just wear woodland/desert bdu, olive drab, diving uniform/black" ... so yeah. It's a fake? I really don't think so, considering that isn't the ONLY time i've seen pictures of them wearing ACUs... What exactly makes your uncle the end-all, be-all knowledge resource of Navy Special Warfare? HoboWithAK 0 Posted August 20, 2007 Alright so for the moment the desert Navy Seals and Night op Seals only use protec helmet. Altho what we will put in else we will see. We have planned to have all woodlands in boonies and the olive drab dudes in protecs but as I have never gone threw army I would not know so I would greatly appreciate any comments and suggestions (Plz keep the suggestions to reality). Thanks in advance. Why would you have them wearing skateboard helmets? Newer generation combat helmets are lighter and provide the same contact protection, while keeping the ballistic protection. Not to say there is no place for the skateboard helmets, but they seem to be used quite a bit less nowadays. Please, don't take BIS' lead and make all SOF with skateboard helmets, that is pure lunacy.

HoboWithAK 0 Posted August 25, 2007 I know you cannot model them currently and put them in game without the SDK tools... but I didn't think he was talking about just another rinkydink re-skin.
