biocunsumer 0 Posted August 7, 2007 My friend has the 505 version and in between missions there is a news report and it's a nice touch but ArmA doesn't seem to have it where'd it go?
max power 21 Posted August 8, 2007 The European versions have the news report while I think that the American version has some kind of comic-book like cut-scene method. If you are not experiencing any cut-scenes at all, there may be a problem with your install.
biocunsumer 0 Posted August 8, 2007 Naw, i have the crappy ones, but the news reports added a lot to the game.
CanadianTerror 0 Posted August 8, 2007 I have the Atari version. The comic book look just looked cheap to me as if it was thrown in and given no thought. It needs more cutscenes/news reports and everything else. Im hoping someone redoes it in the future. Â
Shadow NX 1 Posted August 8, 2007 Always wondered how these US scenes look, can anyone maybe post a pic?

max power 21 Posted August 8, 2007 Naw, i have the crappy ones, but the news reports added a lot to the game. Yeah, but they overstep the animation and lip sync capabilities of the engine a bit and come off looking a little cheap. They are ably acted, however. At any rate, the long and short of it is that you don't have those cut-scenes. They were replaced for the Atari version. You will need to purchase a European version in order to get them. Col. Faulkner 0 Posted August 8, 2007 You mean the American release has no Marianne Quandt (ArmA's answer to Kate Adie)!? Yes, please someone post a pic of the cheapo comic.
jasono 0 Posted August 9, 2007 First I have heard of this cheap comic strip replacing the cutscene. Screenshot please
GAU-8 0 Posted August 9, 2007 its pretty crappy. i've only played the first 10 minutes of first mission. imagine how the loading screens look, with all of silhuette..silhu......shading ..but of a beach scene, rather than soldiers, helos an such. if i remember correctly, its jerky panning too. if feels "tainted". like your about to watch a "Disney story about war. for kids " thats my feeling of it. along with the "sa-HA-rani ' pronunciation. THAT really irks me..i dont know why just one of those "things" that shouldnt be too upsetting..but feels like fingernails on a chalkboard in yer head. Sc@tterbrain 0 Posted August 9, 2007 Nothing to look at really. They basicly look like overlayed loading screens with voice acting writen by Macho Man Randi Savage. Not sure why they didn't just voice over the reporter scenes. I have had both versions (English and Czech), and I'm not sure one can be a clear winner as "better." Will post a pic if I can ever force myself to click on SP again...
