ERC-Blackwater 0 Posted August 4, 2007 Me and my buddy Stock just created our first short film and its only the beginning of loads more. We're naming this series "100 ways to die" and basicly its a way of expressing some sort of art through Armed Assault. It involves murders, hallucinogens and experimental music from "Boards of Canada". Anywho heres a link to our first release. Any feedback is appreciated. Guest Posted August 5, 2007 nice! anything experimental is hard to give critique to, its a feeling. better not get influences for making what others want as opposed to making what your feeling... been there done that got the tshirt as far as seeing and making experimental stuff... you can make that video 1000 different ways and its always going to be good to go. Id say you get bonus points for the broken scenes where the white is creating a frame or border around the center of the picture. definite kudos for BOC. A bit oldschool but in my top 10 best albums of all time. The timing on your cuts seem to be based on your footage running out or just not following the proper measure change from the music.... but then again.... everyone has different tastes... thats fine detail... good mix of imagery... not sure what drug the guy was on up against the wall.... i would guess DMT if he were so lucky .... had a good lol on that the grading looked like its out of the box or default settings... Work with your levels more to control contrast, rather than the actual contrast and brightness tools... but a washed out look is also nice in its own way. all in all, go for it... stress free way of making videos. are you going to do the whole album of BOC? Thanks for the feedback deffinetly man. Couldn't agree with you more on what you stated in your first paragraph. And to answer your question. We'll probably be throwing in songs at random not necessarily from one album, we got all their albums from 1989 till 2006. Which ever songs give the appropriate feeling for the scenes a suppose.
